No worries, glad to be of assistance
Oujiah- Cant really tell what that 'non-bruiser' is from those pics. Try using macro function if you have it, or take it from a bit further back so its in focus. It kinda looks like these other mushrooms ive been finding at my patch though. I dont know what they are.. I might take some pics and try and ID them soon. Have you spore printed it?

Spore was brown I think.. it was hard to tell it was so feint, plus I had eaten some of the bruised ones....
Anyway I threw it out, just interesting 'coz it looked exactly like a sub, it grew next to a sub, but it didn't bruise like a sub

Hmm Possibly a galerina but who knows. Ill take some photos of the ones im talking about and post em after my next hunt. I have a feeling theyre the same.
Also that rules out Stroph. Semiglobata, as they are dung-lovers.

Sounds like an ideal place. Cops patrol there however, so be careful. Saw someone getting done in Oberon on that 'the force' show (or something) last year.
edit: it was actually in WA, my memory fails me. Sounds like a good place

hahah cheers bro ye i did watch that episode too and it got me but im going there with my dad hunting, he searches for edible shrooms aswell, but if i find a patch of subs im definately going to grab then wen i get a chance if i put them in paper bags then when i get back home add wiht a desiccant is the fan drying step neccesary of can i get them cracker dry wiht jsut a desiccant? just at this time of year its a bit hard because i have to dry them in a stealthy manner

Probably want to fan dry then use desiccant. I use a dehydrator which i believe is the best method, but its noisy so not very stealthy. The more time you spend drying the more potential for potency loss. You want them to be crispy before you store them. My test is holding the cap in your fingers and moving the stem. If the cap-stem joint bends at all then they still have moisture in them. It will snap when completely dry.
A dehydrator can dry them (depending on the amount you're drying) in about 2-3 hours. Fan drying can take days, or longer. Ive never tried just using desiccant, but my guess it would take even longer. Your main enemies when drying are sunlight, and time.

Kubol said: In 30 years of mushrooming at Oberon pine forests I must say that I've never seen a mushroom there that bruises blue. Not saying they're not there, just that they're probably not plentiful.
That said, all around the pine plantations are native eucalyptus woodlands which may be more fruitful...
When you get back, let us know how the Slippery Jacks and Saffron Milk Caps are doing up there.
ye ill let ya guys know, last year i come across a bunch of amanitas and saffron milk caps and slippery jacks. im very confused because i thought a place like oberon would be the most ideal because i thought subs grew in pine forest, fruited at the temperatures that occur around there and at this time of year, and seeing as how its the edible mushroom capital i kinda assumed :/

Well I had never hunted in a pine forest nor thought of it before, always went eucalyptus.....
But I decided to go for a walk in the pine forest near my house this morning and look what I found... subs I believe:

only picked 2.. heard people coming
Also saw 2 Amanita muscaria but left em' coz they were old and dry looking

look to me like subs, but wait for a trusted I.D, the blue bruising in the second pic makes it quite likely aswell as the pure white stem

also take a sporeprint, a purple-brown, purple-black sporeprint will then confirm whether or not they are in fact psychoactive

Canberra said: Christ I found so many shrooms, and instead of selling the excess me and two friends decided to eat them all over the course of the week.. I feel a bit burned out
why sell them, subs are to special to sell and make money from them. Buy yourself a dehydrator $80 bux for a 5 tier system. Manual capsule machine with tamper $ 40 bux or so and size "000" capsules (holds 1 gram of powder when tampered) 25 bux i think for 100 or 200. Dry your shrooms out in dehydrator, put them in a coffee grinder, put them in a capsule, put them back in the capsule jar with desiccant and will keep for years.
You can also plan your trips on a 3,4,5, or 6 capsules at a time trip. Far mor intense trip in my opinion less harder on the body as your body doesnt have to brake down the mushrooms so less nausea on the come up. And you dont have to eat them and you wont get caught selling.
