Anyone want to help ID some inactives/Ridicule my ID attempts?
    #12565627 - 05/15/10 12:56 AM (2 years, 15 days ago)

Fuelled on by my first dismal hunt, and armed with a hell of a lot more knowledge then last time, I decided to go on another full day of shroom searching.  Sadly no actives to be found but a superb day all the same. :mushroom2:

Look for places that would be especially wet - near creeks and water run offs for instance. Places where the grass growing through is particularly green. Where the air feels a little more moist. Between two slopes is also good.

Yeah water there was a plenty no friendly little shrooms though, think the wildlife must have beat me to them.  The roos were definately a little over active imho.  :hehehe:

Irritatingly I found quite a few other species that were rather odd/beautiful out there, however I had forgotten the memory card the camera I was using, so only had camera's internal memory to use.  :ohwell:

No idea on any to be honest I am very new to this whole mushroom dealio was planning on spending this evening with a few bears trying to work out what they all are. I mostly just took shots of things that grabbed my eye, like the little puffy buggers in the fifth shot which shot a jet of spores out the little hole in the top when you squished them.

Right, so I thought I would have a newby crack at id'ing my shots, has taken me ages but this is what I have come up with so far:

Pictures 1 & 2:  Hygrophoropsis of some sort pehaps Aurantiaca
Pictures 3 & 4:  Tylopilus Sp.
Picture  5: Unopened Geastrum Sp.  (I am convinced this is not right :P)
Picture  6: Fully open Geastrum Sp.
Picture  7: Coprinus Comatus
Picture  8: ?????????

I am probably miles off on all of these as they are my first attempts at I.D.'s.

Any ideas and suggestions welcomed I won't even take offence if you want to hang it on me for not having a clue.

I know I keep bumping my own thread here wouldn't mind knowing what some of these suckers are though, and/or how close my guesses were.

Cheers in advance

#6 resembles Geastrum triplex, but that is totally a guess.  #5 kinda looks like an aged Bovista plumbea, but again that is just a guess.  I'm probably way off.

 Awesome stuff thanks a lot and I did better then I thought haha Spent ages trying to work them out.  Glad I know what number 8 is now so I can go learn a little about it.

Thanks again, and hopefully I have some more funky finds tomorrow that need an I.D.
