Rain is still refusing to fall on this dry parched godforsaken land It seems we have offended the weather gods. I propose a sacrifice to rectify this scourge. A few politicians come to mind as candidates.

sroomer, this website is fairly useful

Some info on that site can be a bit complicated sometimes.. for me at least. I use this one too

Anyone ever left pins and went back in a couple of days to find that someone else has picked them?

Some more from today:
Not many but still plenty of pins around as you can see. Most of my patches are really dry though so this alleged rain next week will be a godsend - thats if it actually comes.

I will have to wait and see that pin was found on my first hunt after I found my first active...how long should you wait? I think I heard around 4-5 days but not sure if that's correct

They seem to take up to 10 days to go from absolutely tiny pin to full maturity. I think it also depends on the conditions. When i went back to my spot today, most of the pins from 5 days ago still weren't mature, where 5m away some had gone from pin to full maturity.

It sure is, a few in that area seem to grow directly from the mud. Im guessing there is some buried woodchips or roots there.

photos like this (habitat) have also been really helpful and just as important as looking at 100's of actual shrooms cause u need to find the habitat before u can find the shrooms to id...thats how I found my first (and im still stoked)
