Went on another hunt today. Found about a third of the amount of subs msanchez420 did 2 posts up. I'm happy.

Kubol said: Just back from four days in the Blue Mountains. Total of 6 hours hunting over that period.
And what did I find?
- a bunch of Gymnopilus junonius, - a Russula sp. (possibly R. persanguinea), - countless little Mycena sp., - a Ramaria sp. (coral fungi), - a Shaggy Cap Bolete (Boletellus emodensis), - millions of Amanita muscaria, - a basketful of Lactarius deliciosus (Saffron Milk Cap), - an Omphalotus nidiformis (glowing fungus) - various Galerina sp., - a very pretty purple Cortinarius archeri
Total number of Psilocybe subaeruginosa:
- One single dried-out little pin (that resembled a middle finger flipping me off).
Shit!
Sounds like the area needs some lower temps or more rain, a great sign that they are there though! Season has really only just begun, give it a few weeks and they will be going off in 90% of NSW

Heading out to the brindies tomorrow afternoon, hopefully get a few bags full at least.
And Kubol, you must be doing something wrong man! I am no expert but from what I have seen A. Muscaria don't seem to like the same places that subs do... Maybe you need to change where you are looking. Just saying...

The meteorological / weather systems over the majority of Australia have been shocking, if anyone has looked at the recent barometric readings, there is one dominant feature, huge high pressure systems over the continent, big, stable high pressure systems... Which have been preventing the Southern Ocean cold fronts from crossing the mainland, these systems usually intersect perth, then move across the GAB, re intensify over the southern ocean and then cross the south eastern tip before moving across the tasman to NZ, or rarely hanging around as an East Coast Low.
You can see the pattern reflected in the vegetative distribution over australia, the location of these cool, rain filled systems paths over the mainland are clearly shown through the growth patterns and locations of Australian Flora.
This year the high pressure systems have provided pressure gradients far to strong for these fronts to break, and the majority have simply passed beneath the continent in the 40th latitude. This is why we have had unseasonably warm and dry conditions throughout april and early may, particularly on the coast.
The interior have not experienced these issues, but have insteads benefited from a series of upper level trophs which have provided destablised atmospheric conditions and huge rainfall, flooding many parts of west of the state along the main drainage systems, although they have still experienced very high daytime maximums up to 27 degrees.
In summary, the planet is being an asshole, and really should stop. Give me rain and Give me cold!!!!

Had a quick hunt today. Only found a few boletes, galerinas and what I thought was a pure white russula. No pics though.
Great haul 420.
Tough going Kubol. I'm in the same boat as you. Just need a lot more moisture

Went for a hunt today - Nada 25 degrees again and the relative humudity has dropped right off. Too hot for subs and too dry for cubes. You southerners are so lucky.
The Bottlo is looking good tonight.
