Yet to find my first active, any tips finding actives round the hunter region? This hunting and finding nothing is getting really old. Good exercise tho i guess, i walked for 4 hours this morning. Ive probably asked these questions before but i need some inspiration, seein u guys find all these shrooms u must be doin sumthin right.
I have also hunted extensively in the hunter. Some areas have an abundance of inactives but no subs. Even the forests where the temperature is overwhelmingly colder do not seem to produce any subs.

Thats what im sayin man. U guys are the only ppl i can talk to about this, thats why i asked about the area thing, what form of location identification is acceptable? states are obviously, but is that as low as we can go?
Alan, u saying im not looking hard enough, either as right or wrong as u may be doesnt matter, to me thats almost insulting when i look back on my hunting history. That annoyed me so damn much all i wanna do is look for these motherfookers and not stop for anything till i find one.
Be back later tonight and i swear to god im gonna have a damn active even if i have to search all day.

If the location is a few square miles or more its acceptable.

I looked for actives for 5 years before I found one, guess I wasn't looking hard enough.

When I was younger I found cubes on my 3rd hunt and I knew jack shit about shrooms. Now I've read volumes on the subject I haven't seen 1 in months of hunting, that's what led me to this forum.
How long did it take you to find actives Ozzy ?
It's a lot like real estate Location Location Location. My location sucks now I've moved to an area with sandy soil, fuck all rain doesn't help either.

Three things helped me. One was looking at thousands of pictures. The next was (sorry I forget who said this, someone on shroomery) to crouch down and look sort of across instead of down, get down to their level. And the other is to look in really wet woody undergrowths. I found a storm water run off which was wet and dark and woody and I found six of them - but I wouldn't have seen them except I happened to crouch down and see a mushroom. I climbed over (it was like a game of twister there were so many wet branches) to investigate and the rest is history. So thats my advice. Oh and I went to places of higher elevation and looked for areas similar to the areas that I had seen pictures of subs growing in.

Sanchez, those habitat shots, are there any mushrooms in them? Because I strain my eyes and can't see anything.
Also, do you walk along the road looking for likely places for them to be, or do you walk along looking for the fruiting bodies themselves?

I recently found some white mushrooms half the size of those little red guys!

X_Ray Cat, late next week is looking pretty good on the weather front, single figure minimums and rain forecast on wednesday, possible showers on tuesday. We can only hope.
