Well there is nothing happening round here at the moment. Another slightly warmer than average day today. Didnt see a solitary mushroom . I gave up looking and went fishing instead it was such a nice day. Im thinking the next decent rains will get things going. Looking back at last years journal it wasnt until the start of may that i found anything, so heres hoping .

Sea fishing down in SA mostly... catching trout/salmon things.. someone said they are salmon trout.... they are in season now...
at another place my girlfriend and i caught Trevelly, mackerel and blowfish >.< saw someone pull in a huge stingray aswell! was a chinese guy .. i kept trying to tell him to cut it off its dangerous! but he ignored me! pulled it in, landed it, chopped its tail off, took it home and deep fried it and brought it into work for us the next day lol ... grissly shit!

Usually off the rocks or at a beach. Sometimes we go out on a boat but not often. Yesterday we fished off rocks in the harbour. Caught a tiny snapper, a bream and a baby cuttlefish while we were there. Cuttlefish are awesome. But thats a topic for a fishing forum

thats cool guys, i didnt know wtf you fished for in oz land.
so whats a salmon trout? is it like a stealhead out here? which is a rainbow trout, but it goes to the ocean and does all the slamon like things and then returns like a salmon. but unlike a salmon it doesnt have to die after spawning. best eating fish ever!!

Rainbow (also known as steelhead) + Brown trout are my favorite fish to go after here in Aus. Usually head down to a few lakes/dams here in inland NSW + camp for a few days at least, awesome fun Or head to the coast to do a bit of rock fishing
Here's some info I got off Wikipedia regarding the differences/similarities between Salmon + Rainbow Trout:
'Like salmon, steelhead are anadromous: they return to their original hatching ground to spawn. Similar to Atlantic salmon, but unlike their Pacific Oncorhynchus salmonid kin, steelhead are iteroparous and may make several spawning trips between fresh and salt water.'

ya i know what stealies are, i fish for them here.thats why i asked if you just called a stealhead a salmon trout because i have never heard the term salmon trout. but i did have a feeling you were talking about a stealhead.. we have lots of stealhead here on the westcoast of BC.
really i had no idea you could cath them there in australia! that is really cool.
