I'm not from the Hunter region, my status 'Hunter' means 'Mushroom Hunter'
As Oreganic said above and as stated in the forum rules, plz no asking for specific areas. I can however tell you that I am in Southern NSW
When average max temps lower to around 15 degrees with 5 degree average minimum temps, start hunting. Check out any mountainous areas near where you live, go up above 1000-2000m and there will be a temp difference of around 6.5 degrees. Your best bet for early finds. Look in woodchipped / debris heavy areas, with eucalypt and or pine trees nearby. Personally I have never had great luck in pine plantations, stick to Sub-Alpine areas and below that are wet and shady. The season may not kick off for you until Mid-late April. Don't get disheartened, you will find them I am sure
Good luck!

You're the idiot who didn't read the rules. It gets pretty redundant. And I never mentioned anything about language?

Cheers mate, good luck for the season
Cakemaphoneige... chill out, keep this thread for posting your finds or comments about finds, not for flaming each other about the rules.
We are all pretty nice/helpful people here in the Mushroom Hunting forum, Oreganic was just trying to point you to forum rules, which are a must read We are not trying to be 'dramatic'or single you out Good vibes your way
Now back to the shroom hunting...

Sanchez, i have noticed some of your (amazing!) gallery of subs was shot at night - is their any particular advantage to hunting at this time? Do they glow in the dark or something?

I hunt during the day 99% of the time - It's just so much easier to spot subs in the daylight. A lot of the areas I hunt are pretty high up in elevation, often with a steep descent on one side of the trail, or in dense bush filled with logs and painful vegetation, so I like to see where I am going Which photos are you referring to?
Unlike Cubensis it is fairly difficult to spot Subs under moonlight unless you have a torch, which can also look quite suspicious to any observers wondering what the hell you are doing.
Thank you for the comments about my gallery - Five seasons hunting Subs so far, and loved every minute of it

Just the flash used on my camera, the flash makes it look like the Subs are lit up + the surrounding area darker, and thus that I was hunting at night - but I assure you it was very much daylight
If you have looked at all of my photos you should be very aware of what you need to hunt for! Cheers bro, hope ya find a mad haul and bring lots of piccies to this thread!
