Found some more interesting mushrooms. Slightly more brown than the subs I've found, thicker stipe (some are hollow), no bruising. They were fairly dry but I picked a couple anyway because I was bored.

Anyone?

Yeah didn't think they were. I've found them growing near Subs the last few weeks.
The patch I found first got cleared by council mowers. I've only seen one single Sub grow since... devastated.

You want to try and leave them until the cap has opened so they have a chance to drop spores. That way they will spread and the patch will hopefully get bigger and keep going for years to come, or spread spores to new areas and create new patches.

If you pick them early, they won't have a chance to drop spores which means there a less chance for more patches to start up.
[Edit] There is information around that explains if you do pick the mushrooms with closed or semi-closed veils the potency per gram compared to full sized caps will be increased.

Theyll fruit again this season, just remember to do your bit by intentionally spreading them around

Make some spore prints and add to a super soaker tank filled with water, and spray some new patches

Hi guys,
Good forum. New user here.
I found a stoker of a patch of these after the recent large rains, but obviously too late, though was looking elsewhere in the suburb on my 'lunch' break. These specimens came back with me today.
Can anyone put weight for/against my suspiscion that they are subs? Obviously I am not going to eat these, but if they are certified subs, I will ensure these garden beds are well tended and mycelium is spread. I have an interest in the cultivation angle.
Cheers

indigogo: They don't like like Subs to me... very hard to tell when dried, but they don't look like dried Subs + I can't see any evidence of blue bruising. I wouldn't eat them

OK, I will keep an eye on them and expand my quest elsewhere as well. Thanks for the input.
I (guess we all) have been tracking the BOM. That rain seems to be always a week away.

gogo, those stems are way too thin for a start. They are also the wrong colour, and usually the caps don't go in like that when they are dry.

Also the gills on mature specimens like that would be much darker.
Here's a couple of dried subs for comparison:
