I really wish being a zen stick wasn't so painful.

Do not try avoid the pain of the stick That's impossible, only realize the truth That there is no stick It is not the stick that hits you, you are only hitting yourself

As long as you don't freeze to death, die of thirst, starve or get eaten.
I bet there's nothing more life-affirming than being eaten by a bear. It's probably the closest you'll ever get to a wild animal. While he's chomping on your femur and the endorphins unleash themselves into what remains of your bloodstream, you can look into his eyes and ruminate about the circle of life and how that bear's eating you will enable him to live for a few more weeks, long after you're shit out and biodegrading into the topsoil to feed the surrounding worms and plants.
Damn, no bears or snakes in NZ woods. Another line from the movie Peaceful Warrior - "this moment must be really hard for you, are you paying attention"?

birds (everywhere), and deer(in some places). the only thing you need to worry about is wild pigs and cyanide possum poison.
Surviving nature in NZ isn't too bad really. plenty of fish in streams, lots of drinking water (make sure your near the source in the alps tho to avoid farm run off!). Take a spear and machete or hatchet and all is good. Winters can be rough, but there are huts littered all around if you know where to look.

Internet IMO.

I heard that pop song the other day that has the chorus "liiiiiiiive like you were dyingggggg" and I started thinking about how one would go about this and if it's actually helpful. It might be a slightly superfluous way to intensely experience life, after all if I were to actually live like I were dying I would quit my job first of all and do all kinds of things that would probably end up killing me if I weren't dying, hows that for irony?
And so, if you're dying, presumably you would begin to, or completely let go of material attachments, so I think what the phrase hints at is to let go of material attachments. I'm not holding anything right now, though
