6T WBS TEK IS AMAZING * 1
    #1620641 - 06/09/03 12:51 PM (20 years, 9 months ago)

6T's WBS TEK is amazing. I made 5 pint jars last week and they are all 75% colonized already. The speed in which these bad boys move is amazing. They are already ahead of 1/2 pint BRF jars I made 2 and a half weeks ago. The strain is cambo, so I'm sure that helps, but you have to see how fast and healthy these things look. While WBS is more prone to contam, the speed of colonization surely makes that risk less. Also, shaking is a great benefit to the tek. I really think WBS is much easier than BRF PF Tek. I mean I understand it really requires casing, but that is just as easy as fruiting cakes (which seem to be pretty stubborn). If anyone is thinking about starting to cultivate, I really suggest starting with WBS, you will learn more and see results quicker. Just take good sterile precautions and you will be fine. Thank you 6T.

I refers to you in this post, so I am not doing anything and niether are you.

Do a search on the forum. Do not abuse the method you discover.

No shit i am with you. I love 6t's WBS tek. I hadzed cake in 2 weeks... and that was wheni fucked up and cooked the WBS a little too much. There's another grat grain tek at www.fungifun.org. Grain for simple minds... it works wonders, and its less prone to getting over/undercooked because it is so carefully measured. I am trying popcorn now, i think thats supposed to be even better than WBS.

Funk go to either the post office and get envelopes or go by Office Depot or Max and get the envelopes there. They will say Tyvek Envelopes and will have DuPonts seal on them. Its about $15 for 50 10x13 envelopes. Thats a couple hundred jars worth (even if you double them up). Any office supply place should have them. They are the kinda envelopes that are almost impossible to tear. It looks like woven plastic fibers which is basically what they are. Hopes this helps.

I use foil in the PC to keep the internal moisture consistent. You can use tyvek coveralls from homedepot and just cut them to size.

I am going to try this tek. So fr I have only done cakes, which worked well the first time and not as great the second time. But I am hoping that this works really well like you all have said. Look for results and updates in the following weeks, because I am off to pick up supplies today and start the sterilization tonight or tomorrow.

You can just go to the post office and get them for free.

The easiest way to procure tyvek is from your local post office.  The priority mail envelopes are free and made of tyvek.
