 Illegal Immigrant Deportation

True Story... I'm Texan and until 2 years ago always shared this belief many of you hold about deporting the illegal Mexicans, until I found out that my best friend, my BFFF is now illegal. He has been my friend since sixth grade and he told me sophomore year of college that he and his family are technically illegal. He has been here since he was 6. He knows the English language fluently, and is literally the smartest motherfucker I know. Until about 3-4 years ago he and his family were perfectly legal. They are not criminals and are very hard workers. They only came here for a better life as Americans, not cholos. Well their visa expired and now they are illegal immigrants. He has lived here for 15 fucking years, but is now an illegal citizen. The problem with getting legal is the process can take up to 10 fucking years. 10 years! How fucked is that? He can't apply for citizenship because it's like waving a huge red flag saying "I'm illegal, come and get me!". It's a catch 22 really, because you get raped in the ass either way. He is fucking brilliant, a true genius and humanitarian but can only work at steakhouses because of his status. He really wanted to join the peace corps, but you have to be a US citizen. He's taking philosophy and poli sci as his majors. The point is, he and his family have worked hard to build a life here legally, but their visa expired and now they are stuck. I believe the only way to fix this problem is to provide amnesty to these people and put them in the system so they can pay taxes, etc. However, I do think there need to be background checks so we can deport the violent offenders. We do not need to open the doors to everyone, but there is no fucking way we have the resources and the manpower to round up and deport tens of millions of people for deportation. It's just not feasible, plus we end up looking like Nazis. I never thought anyone could change my mind on this issue but it only took one person. I hope I can be that person to somebody else, and that is why I felt the need to share this. Keep in mind, they are human beings like you and I who only want a better life for their families, as would we all would in that situation.

I feel ya on that...I dont really care, I just want to be able to work without being under-cut by someone who will work cheaper...they should all get citizenships and contribute to society like you have stated, because America IS SUPPOSED to be a melting pot and hope for all, anyone of any culture, religion, and creed.

I can agree with that. I'm talking about manual labor jobs like construction, roofing and so on.

They should have been applying for citizenship while they were on Visa. Not wait until Visa expired, then think about becoming a citizen. They can still re-apply for Visas
This happens to people from every country. My mother is from England and just now became a citizen. After being in the US for 25 years.
The US doesnt look like Nazi's, if anything we look like pussies. We have one of the weakest immigration laws in the world.

I meant we would look like Nazis if we rounded up millions of people and forcibly relocated them......actually that sounds just like Americans, what with our intolerance of American Indians.  And I do know it happens to people from all over the world, but there is no denying the vast majority of illegal immigrants are Latinos. I don't know ALL the details of his situation. He was very reluctant to tell me, his best friend for 10+ years, because he was so embarrassed. They are not stupid so I know they have been trying to remain legal. I try not to ask about it too much because I know it is a very emotional issue for him. I did not gear this thread to educated people such as yourself, but to hopefully give a new prospective to someone who is quick to support the border fence and deportation of hard working families (as I once was). After amnesty is granted (which it will be) we will definitely have to tighten our laws b/c, as you said, we have some of the weakest immigration laws in the world.

There's a misunderstanding with people who think people wanting them deported are heartless.It has nothing to with not liking those people personally.If I lived in a shit country I might've tried to escape too.

They should kill every illegal they find. There should be sniper posts on the borders every couple hundred yards. The bodies should be left to rot as a message to those who follow.

my father came to this country as an illegal. he did all the jobs that the whites care not to do so who gives a fuck if they come over,
on the other hand i don't like mexican gangs like MS-13's because they cross to commit crimes while the rest mainly come for a better life.
basicall to do the jobs other people care not to do.

americans are a tolerant people , they have had relatively good lives, that is why they dont get indignant about immigrants, you think mexicans would act the same if people from the usa would go to mexico and take jobs, commit crime, have alot of kids , litter everywhere, mexicans would straight up kill people who did that....
