How do you attach your whatman filters (syringe filters) to plastic lids?
    #12151080 - 03/05/10 08:47 PM (2 years, 2 months ago)

I have used Plastic Epoxy with marginal results. They all held in place and survived the autoclave just fine. After testing the glue's strength on one of the filters it broke free and was able to rotate in place (like turning a steering wheel, honk honk, here comes the LC party bus), but it never came out. The LC didn't ever contam.

If I don't mess with them them seem to work just fine, but I wish there was something better out there.

I use Ball plastic lids outfitted with red RTV sealant for injection sites, and Whatman polypropylene body syringe filters with PTFE filter membranes for GE.

Please reply and share your results with what you have used to attach the plastic syringe filters to the plastic lids and how well it has worked for you.
