This just opened today, a Stapelia of some kind.

wicked!  its amazing how large a flower can come from such a little plant...and teh smell aint great, luckily it doesnt carry too well.

The plant itself does little for me but well worth having around for when it flowers and yeah, the smell doesn't travel which is nice.


Have you seen how large the seed pods get? They are at least twice the size of the flower. Amazing!

Yeah my ones been growing these big pods for a couple a months now. I don't pay it much attention and somehow didn't see or smell the flowers unfortunately

They're the ones, nice pendulous growth on that plant. The pods open up and release heaps of fluffy seed that gets carried away in the wind.

rotten flesh? i gotta say i've never smelled this but a plant will do almost anything to spread its genes.

now that rocks.

will you be donating seeds to the seed bank, k-man? that would be a nice addition to my garden.

most of those flowers grow in my backyard and frontyard by themselves! they're beautiful. Nature is so great

not for long. i'll do another 10 to 15 days or more starting wednesday. we take our rig out to location on the 15th of may.

just waiting for my 3thousand dollar check on friday. i hate being broke.
