The tek requires unnecessary steps. You'll get better flushes with hydrated cakes overall. The reason your still getting good flushes is that cubensis is real forgiving.

Cold shocking is considered a pinning trigger. First mistake. I am not trying to reinvent the wheel, just sharing some ideas that need to be tested again and again. Second mistake.

Cold shocking is NOT a pinning trigger. Dunking is to rehydrate the cake. Why do we use cold water? Because bacteria grows slower in cold water. I wouldnt expect you to know this after only a couple months.

I just posted a link where Hyphae says cold shocking is a pinning trigger! I am not saying I believe it is. I am just saying it was believed to be a pinning trigger. Anyway my tek is about heat shocking, not cold shocking. Furthermore you didn't answer my questions.

So funny. I've never said cold shocking is a pinning trigger. I only said it was believed to be a pinning trigger. There is a link I posted some minutes ago, please read it. However the title of this tek is The heat shock.

"Cold shocking is considered a pinning trigger" LeopardMan
"So funny. I've never said cold shocking is a pinning trigger" LeopardMan
The need for a heatbomb is an unnecessary step.
I havent messed with cakes in years. I do bulk. I dont get the best pinset but I make up for it in pounds. Cakes are cute you get grams.

To the attackers - a little background:
- LeopardMan has posted several threads recently showing ridiculously good pinsets on his cakes, despite them being MS.
- Many people, myself included, have been practically begging him to describe his unconventional pinning strategy
- He wanted to wait and keep gathering data to be sure he had discovered a technique that was repeatably successful.
- After more begging, he went ahead and wrote up this awesome and detailed tek, asking for input and asking for others to give it a shot to see if they could replicate his results
This tek has NOTHING TO DO WITH COLD SHOCKING. This tek is about a pinning strategy that has (apparently) worked well on cakes, but hasn't been discussed on shroomery. (as far as i know) You could conceivably apply the same tek to bulk substrates and increase MS yield considerably.
Why would you come into a great thread like this and start attacking the OP? Either be constructive or stfu. Tons of folks on the board love working with cakes, and others just love the intricacies of improving technique, efficiency, and yield. Just because you can easily crank out pounds in a bulk grow doesn't mean that everyone wants to do that.

I'm pretty sure nobody is "attacking" this thread or the OP. One poster just pointed out that it is common knowledge (after being on the shroomery for a bit) that cold shocking is not a pinning trigger. The OP seemed to want to disprove the workings of cold shocking cold shocking, and he did, but it has already been done. No attacking, just pointing that out.
