I'm not glad his freedom is in danger,

but it definitely doesn't help plants that are in a very grey area of the law, who are overlooked for not being such a large concern, when you market them as legal highs alongside increasingly popular recreational legal highs like K2 that attract the attention of law enforcement and lawmakers
for EXAMPLE's sake... how would do you think law enforcement would feel if they found mass production of aya plants alongside pounds of heroin and meth? Yes, the laws are unfair, fuck even marijuana should be legal, but you have to understand who you are dealing with, and therefore it is an ASSHOLE thing to do to sell these plants alongside bongs (like some headshops) and other things marketed directly as a recreational high
I wish him the best, but I also wish he didn't call into question our own freedoms, by trying to make a bigger buck.

an EXPENSIVE toad, on a drug site, marketed as a drug, is NOT going to receive the same quality of care as a regular toad from a regular pet shop. Not to mention how they get shipped in shoe boxes for 1000's of miles, and arrive with freaking missing LEGS...................
sure on average pets don't live very happy lives....but a pet that gets you high and sold as such is going to be very worse off in most cases.
and yes the high price to a certain extent doesn't help because it makes all the kids go....oo cool it must really get you tweeking if they want that much, and with missing legs its kinda obvious that extra money isn't going towards avoiding abuse.

I think you are jumping to conclusions. I think a lot of people take better care of their drugs than their own lives. I have a feeling some of the people spending tons on those toads treated them like kings.
That is really sad to think about them missing legs on delivery. Do we know that that happened, and that he didn't make an effort to satisfy his customers by changing shipment methods to send toads that arrive whole?
I wonder how many toads the pet stores have to throw away when the box of them arrives from Mexico.
And, not like it really needs debating, I don't believe that making them expensive causes people to purchase them more, or to purchase them for malicious reasons. I think that it makes people less likely to order it unless they really want it, and it also filters out people who would buy it but not be able to afford to take care of it. I think if they were cheaper I would probably have bought one right now, so I'm glad they were expensive.
Both arguments, mine and yours, are conjecture.

and i guess your right looking at just price might be debateable, but when coupled with how its marketed i think its much less debateable.
licking frogs is something kids do. drug users have a reputation for doing stupid shit. drug users typically are on the lower income scale which means more work, less play, less money, to do shit right.
and from what i remember these frogs do not like being kept in captivity

It hasn't been that long ago that BBB rescued toads from a farm where they were going to be killed.
I didn't like the idea of selling the toads either until I checked it out, you don't neglect a pet you pay $250.00 for.
