Mimosa Hostilis Tree
    #11944858 - 02/01/10 09:24 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I have recently had the urge to trip two months after my first LSD trip. I have been reading alot and I have decided that I want to try DMT, looking at the shroomery and other sources on the internet I found pictures of 'Mimosa Hostilis' and I noticed that in my mothers backyard she has a very large Mimosa Hostilis Tree. It has alot of seed pods on it and am wanting to extract some DMT, although I cannot just chop down the tree and dig up its roots. Is there anyway I can extract the DMT from seeds or other plant matter? Or say I was to grow a few others, do they take a long time to make enough roots to extract say, a few doses of DMT? Thanks for the help.:smirk:

If you started from seeds, I think it could take 2-3 years before you got it to a size it could recover from a harvest and give you a good enough yield. You'd want to take only like 1/4th of the roots(if you want it to live).

You don't need to uproot the entire tree to harvest roots, either. Just do like a 1/4 or 1/8 of your mom's tree if she's okay with that. I don't know how to harvest and I'm sure it's easy to damage the tree maybe even kill it if you don't know what you're doing.

At like 100-150$ a kilo you might be better off buying some bark online.

You don't have to chop down the tree. As long as you are careful not to injure the plant, digging up some roots should be fine. Just take what you need and no more. If it truly is a large tree, it shouldn't have much trouble recovering from minor root loss.

In addition, I highly recommend that you donate some Mimosa hostilis seeds to the EG Seed Bank. The "Ethnobotanical Garden" section of the Shroomery is better place to post any plant-related topics.

Where do you live?  I'd say 99% you do NOT have a M. hostilis tree in your back yard.  There are a LOT of plants that look very similar and are easily confused.

if it has pink fluffy ball things it is not a mimosa.  Most everyone i know will call the look alike a mimosa when its really not.

It would be easy to confuse about any of these for M. hostilis to someone without previous knowledge: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimosoideae

As im looking at pictures, I think I might be incorrect. I will take a picture in just a minute and post it to see if I am. But, if I am correct and it is I would be more than happy to donate some seeds.

Mimosoideae is simply a "sub-family" name.  There are many plants, including "mimosa hostilis" within mimosoideae.  The wikipedia page clarifies things a bit.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimosa_hostilis

The box on the right shows the groupings man has made for the plant and its other names and such.
