Just making sure, you took the spawn jars and just mixed them into the coir instead of keeping it as a cake then added the last layer over that?

I want to be helpful but asking a question like this really illustrates that you didn't even fucking read the first post.

Mix the spawn and the coir up really well. Try and get the spawn throughout the coir evenly.
Talkin about cakes and shit... Might need to go back to basics if you can't differentiate between jars of grain and cakes. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19140341#19140341

hell yea. Plus in all fairness the user's name that Inocule was responding to is "Doinyawife", so attitude further warranted.

Usually people do find my rage hilarious for some reason. Not enough of a problem to me to stop doing it though.

I take it you haven't read about how fully colonized spawn is contamination resistant?

Wasnt concerned about the spawn. I was more concerned about the coir and verm.

Verm is pretty much inert, being a mineral, and nothing really likes to germinate on heat-treated coir for a few weeks, which gives the already-germinated mycelium a chance to get a foothold. Still, wear gloves when mixing them. If you have hidden mold in your jars that WILL feast on the coir though.

This is my first time with bulk. I followed all the directions to a "T" and got to the point where I have the Coir/Verm mixed in the tub. The problem I had is when I was ready to add the spawn, I noticed it all smelled sour and had to throw them out. I did another batch and am wondering if I can just add this spawn to the same Coir/Verm mix that has been sitting, sealed up, in the tub, in a black garbage bag for a month, or if I should just mix a new fresh batch of Coir/Verm? I don't want to take any risks on contaminating, but don't want to be overzealous either. Anyone have a solid answer to that one...?
Oh! Also... I have 6 quarts of spawn. I can't think of anything to do with the extra one, so would it be a bad idea to just add it to the 5 jars?

more spawn can't hurt. more grain means more nutrients.
Just make a new mix. coco bricks and verm are cheap as chips.

Don't use coir that's been sitting for a month. It might work but it probably won't last too long.

Coir never goes bad re-sterilize it. Throwing coir away is dumb imo
