using crock pot for hydration-

searching all I can find is questions about sterilization using crock pot. I am noob but not an idiot. I'm (a buddy) going to try the crock pot to hydrate some popcorn or rye. Will post back with results.

I loaded popcorn into crock pot on 8 hour setting. Completely hydrated, no need to simmer. Less burst kernels. Time will tell if this is a + or not.

Sounds ok.
I tried WBS in my rice cooker, and it got way too mushy. But popcorn is tougher.

day 10 and nothing, I have yet to get a bag tek to work, so that's possibly the where the blame belongs. Tossed in compost pile.
