I just completed putting together a new 2-channel stereo (not 5.1 theatre system - the first new system in 31 years). I did not play Lil Wayne, I (just now at 1:30 am est) played a vintage vinyl copy of 'Who's Next.' I asked an adolescent this week what she listens to when SHE gets stoned. Answer: Lil wayne. "As long as it has a beat," she said, and "As long as I like the words." She HAS heard OF the Beatles, but doesn't know the Beatles. She has NEVER heard of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead. She is aesthetically and culturally impoverished as far as I can tell. She and her older sister have been in the foster care system. Her mother is a crack addict in Miami.
Being gangsta just doesn't manifest anything remotely related to compassion and enlightenment. being gangsta is spiritually, morally, aesthetically, and intellectually retarded.

Gangsta mentality is about respect. Not too hard to understand. They have different goals. It isn't spiritually/morally/intellectually retarded because it doesn't attempt to reach those goals in the first place. That's like saying a car is stupid because it doesn't cook food.

I appreciate your response, but human beings are not cars. Our nature is multidimensional, and gangsta mentality is only a prehensile elaboration of basic mammalian instincts. It doesn't rise bove mammalian behavior even though it has the potential to do so. I am a fairly intelligent and moral man, but I know perfectly well how to act beneath my status - to be a human mammal istead of a human being - if I was so disposed. Such an enterprise is not only criminal from a societal point of view, it is immoral and even demonic (if one dare use a medieval model).
BTW, "respect" as you call it, can be seen from a socio-biological perspective just like a puppy lowering its head before a mature dog. This too is mammalian behavior. Moreover, the addiction to life in this world makes human mammals mere slaves to an animal mentality. Survival, sexuality, power - the first 3 chakra motivations that human mammals have in common with not only other mammals, but lower life forms as well. It is devolution and is not merely another 'free choice' of lifestyle. It is socio-biological determinism and anything but freedom.

I agree that it isn't exactly my ideal mentality, but do you understand where its coming from? Ghettos/projects aren't exactly that great of a place to live in. Basic needs must be satisfied before one can become "enlightened" or whatever. AKA you gotta eat, you gotta have a place to sleep, etc. Also, don't pay attention to rap on the radio. That is a bunch of bullshit appealing to the lowest denominator. Try and look for stuff beyond that and you'll see the attraction.

Gangster Mentalities are purely a reaction to sexuality issues. People have a very hard time with sexuality and its ever changing flows - gangster mentalities are easily thwarted when confused of their sexuality. Their focus is divided and repressed so it can make them very aggressive in a fight but incredibly weak minded in a duel. I was once a gangster and I know that it is really just a way to cover up sexual desires and appear manly - not to mention gain the comfort of some friends while you are at it and sheild your self from negative emotions, through using it as an guidance tool.
I do not believe in chakra's, I do believe in the emotional body but the emotional body can be shaped in any which way...I have finger chakra's for example, when I magine emotion culminates there.
