yea in a part of one of my fields it was absolutely sodden, and all the libs in the sodden area were really dark like you say and had soaking wet stipes which couldnt even uphold the mushroom, basically psilocybe semilanceata mush lol

oh how i love that word psilocybe semilanceata:grin:

going on one final hunt tomorrow, hoping to get a few more before the frosts hit. good luck to anyone considering the same. the past two days were worth it or me, unexpected hunt turned out about 600 libs and i havent covered all my spots yet. still no extreme cold here, delighted!

ive had a few hard frosts here recently which killed off the season, however, mild weather is forecast for the next week so do any veteran lib hunters out there think they might pop back up again?

Had all but given up on this season till read this thread last night.

Inspired into having one last look and 30 odd were found in 20mins before dark!

Considering this spot had 100 times that a short while ago reckon that be last pick of the season...
