wiscokid said: One other good thing here - check out these pics of the outdoor beds - now these also seem ( at least my azies ) to benifit HUGELY from a casing of that happy frog soil now this first pic is a few days to a week after feeding the area new chips and layering with the happy frog soil - - -- - -- - - - - - - notice the THICK chunks of rhizos starting to poke thru the surface already even jumping to twigs on the surface and eating thistle plants trying to grow
Now another week later - - -- - THE WHOLE AREA IS A RHIZO HEAVEN the azies seem to EAT straight happy frog and look soooooooooooo "happy":) they RAGE thru it - kinda like a natural fertilizer for the rhizo's -
Much luck to all you good men out there!!!!!!! - lets get the ENTIRE globe covered in hardy woodlovers
Logging in after a couple of days off - and my eyes nearly fell out! Azures apparently attacking a still living plant! So much for saprophytic! In light of this, I wonder what experiments we can dream up between us...? Perhaps giving those azzies a little boost in expanding their range to the UK as a means of thistle and bramble control

Maybe some ovoids too...? Heck, why not just get all the spores of all the woodlovers sent over here and let them battle it out. Bohemica, cyanofibrillosa, arcana, caerulipes, argentipes, sylvatica, pelliculosa, serbica, cyanofriscosa, subaeruginascens, ...just off the top of my head. So come on everyone, here's a shout going out for the Great British Woodlover Experiment - donations gratefully received!

Yes mate a concerted effort over the years to introduce as many woodlovers as possible to these Isles would be a just and noble cause! I've certainly got a hobby for life now together we can make a real difference!

Participants in the project could each take on a couple of species to start off by one method or another, expanding onto ever increasing woodchip volumes, whatever space permits, using the usual methods. It would require some dedication, I suspect!

I can already see myself in the not to distant future covertly inoculating giant piles of ornamental wood-chips , creeping around in the small hours of the morning dressed entirely in black , tryin not to get sectioned

Anything to show for your buggering around, besides hideous mould or nothing at all? I tried seeing how un-sterile I could work and decided seeing how sterile I could work was a better idea But that was with cubes, of course.
