Interesting, if we could master the woodlover, we could master the Azurescen and make a combined effort to introduce to these green and pleasant lands.
Never knew of any Azure sightings before so was one day hoping to be a pioneer
Ovoids in the spring in the UK would be sweet too

Because the are Tubaria furfurascens at best. And have you ever heard of the genus Galerina? Otherwise, have a GREAT trip

I'd heard somewhere that rotten cyans go really well in a cocktail with Galerina autumnalis and Tubaria furfurascens (sorry - just being stupid!)
So, more egg boxes or expansion on woodchip?

Wiscokid, great advice as usual but could you explain the soil pasteurisation a bit more?
-As I see it you just use the boiled chip water and throw over soil. Is this done in a pan then left for a bit off the boil or straight through a colander?
I ask because I followed your methods precisely (except I nuked soil) and contams went mad..... though now think the chips used were contamed up to fook -green and whitey mould bits can be seen all over them.
Because of this to everyone elso I would NOT recommend B&Q natural hardwood chips, instead hardwood pet bedding guarantees on the label that no fungus is present -giving the wanted myc a head start!
(I have heard elsewhere of a guy who soaks in water for three days to allow all spores to germinate and then sterilises, he has no problems following this procedure)
The compact yellowey/ blonde shavings etc that you get everywhere are no good though, they are softwood.
Unfortunately Happy Frog Organic Soil is not available in UK so I have used mychorrizae granules -though some of these are said to contain trich!
Hey there UK explorer yeah - i just use a little bit of soil usually in a layer at top of the jars or in the middle - seems to speed up the rhizo action in my azure jars!!! - and i would just put soil in a bowl with holes at the bottom - and use the boiled chip water to wash it - kinda pasturizing it - but gets it warm and moist!!!! - then i let it drip in the sink for a while - and just let it cool in a open plastic bag on the counter-------- i luckily never ran into contams doing this method but i do kno i used playbox sand one time - and THAT indeed carried in some wicked fuzz molds - a little quality organic soil shud just give the mycelium a running start to jump onto more chips - too much soil and it might start getting overrun with contams - - - also out by you - try n find ANY kind of foxfarm organic soil - it might be around if you hunt stores hard enuf id stay away from granular pellet fertilizers - just even use a little good black dirt from anywhere outside - i found the mason jar method - with boiled smoking chips and little layers of soil to work the best - - - -- - ive also had those breather patch bags work really good too - and just plain plastic tubs full of cardboard and more boiled chips - - -- - - and as you mentioned - pre soaking the chips for a couple days would sound like a good idea too - kinda like cube cultivation - where its good to soak the rye so some contams and bacteria germinate - then give it the sterilization to kill it off - And just keep at it no matter what - even contamed jars will kick ass sometimes - the mold shudn't have much at all to bite into if the substrate is mainly woodchips - Good luck bro - May you ROCK ALL WICKED WOODLOVERS n the UK be sure n hit me up next november - i can get you some PHATTY thick azure prints to start up your next project

One other good thing here - check out these pics of the outdoor beds - now these also seem ( at least my azies ) to benifit HUGELY from a casing of that happy frog soil now this first pic is a few days to a week after feeding the area new chips and layering with the happy frog soil - - -- - -- - - - - - - notice the THICK chunks of rhizos starting to poke thru the surface already even jumping to twigs on the surface and eating thistle plants trying to grow
Now another week later - - -- - THE WHOLE AREA IS A RHIZO HEAVEN the azies seem to EAT straight happy frog and look soooooooooooo "happy" they RAGE thru it - kinda like a natural fertilizer for the rhizo's -
Much luck to all you good men out there!!!!!!! - lets get the ENTIRE globe covered in hardy woodlovers
