I got some pics to post when I get home from work. Both of my trays had surprised for me this morning. Well wasn't THAT much of a surprise TBH since I could see the stuff forming hehe. Should I get a new word to post with the pics? Does it matter?

The last 2 pics are of the pinset for the first flush from my last jar from the last contest. I actually had a lot contaminate b/c I'm still experimenting with sterile procedures to find something that works and isn't too difficult or cautious.

damn you and your pins.
anyways i was lazy and instead of giving my cakes a 12-24 hour dunk it was more like a 72 hour lock up in the fridge.  
im trying something with the fc and no perlite and a coolmist inside.
thats also cause im lazy and dont want to deal with the perlite rite now.

I think NM is really weird.
See the cap in the pic in the upper left? The cap with the top broken/split in the middle? Well, I harvested that cap just now, and the veil wasn't even completely broken. A lot of the NMs are looking like that. The top of the cap acts like it's past it's prime and the veil isn't even broken. Weird.

caps splitting is usualy from dry air around them but bacterial blotch can start to eat your caps also from too much moisture setting on the caps too long. or its the start of rosecomb which happens from time to time when growing cubes.
either way it wont hurt you or anything as long as they are dried properly.

So, this morning I checked on things to find this happening:
   
So, I pm'd TacoHerder and asked for a new word to update with. It's a good thing I did, because this is what I came home to:
  
You'll notice the perlite. It's no longer straight water. I added perlite when 13shrooms suggested that the split cap could be because of dry air. I had a feeling that the humidity level dropped off substantially when shit got too far away from the water. I added the perlite to hopefully help that issue. Initially I was going to make it just like my other FC which is filled with perlite, has about 2" of water in it, and 2 bubble wands with an air pump hooked up, but instead I was a dumbass and added too much water to it to begin with and was too lazy to take some out. So I tried the straight water thing and it works to a degree. I'm still waiting for the water to evaporate off so I can add more perlite lol. So anyway, yeah.... Time for me to put some caps on foil... Both of the casings were ready to be picked for their first flush.
