I almost added that point to the line, but I decided that saying "I will not fault you" was clear enough, and adding "Not that my opinion matters" was obvious and did not need covering.

Actually, I am not spiritual. I do not believe in spirits, and I consider spirituality akin to religion.

So it is not my place to pass judgment on peoples motives for doing things, but someone telling me they take a drug for any spiritual purpose, does not come off as a redeeming reason. Though I will usually pretend not to think it is bullshit, or at least ignore it.

I take hallucinogens for the novel experience of temporary insanity. Though I am pretty used to the effects now, and it is not fun or interesting anymore.

Well, I certainly don't believe in gods or spirits, but I do feel a strongly increased connectedness with nature when I take mushrooms, which is what I am referring to when I speak of a "spiritual experience". It has nothing to do with fairies and goblins.

This seems to me an irrelivant question. They did use them, some still use peyote monthly for religious purposes, but unless CC is native american, i don't see why she would care.

If this whole debate was read correctly by myself, it all comes down to the passing of judgment onto others. All this talk is relating of ones own reasoning and morality to another person or peoples. If you do something, do it for yourself, not just because someone else has done it, and not been slandered for it. Judgment is what i attempt to escape here at shroomery.org, i read and post (sometimes to things that have nothing to do with me) so i can learn what people have to say and learn, not why they do what they do.

If you think that attempting to justify yourself and your actions via online forums will somehow help your own mind set, id love to hear what you have to say. But if your going to insult others for his/her own mindset, i might just keep scrolling down...

And now for something completely different.....
...when you have an 8am class, but you stay up till 4:30am because every time you go back to the "Hunting and ID" page there is a new post...

I haven't heard any personal insults in this thread. Though a lot of opinions have been expressed. If someone perceives it as personally offensive, then they are welcome to speak up. Or not. I don't really care one way or the other. I am certainly not here to censor anyone's opinion unless it is slanderous or inflammatory.
