Er... For tripping I would recommend you listen to music you naturally enjoy, instead of listening to music that is labeled as 'trippy' while tripping.

Please tell me you've actually listened to Shpongle before you dismiss them as being somehow derivative... listening to their music on DMT is like looking over the Mona Lisa with a compound lens and not only seeing each brush stroke but finding that Da Vinci left little microscopic messages because he knew somebody would do that eventually  "Tales of the Inexpressible" is far and away my favorite album of all time, and even sober people say it sounds like music from another planet.
Not saying I only listen to Shpongle, but a trip doesn't feel complete without it. I can set all sorts of moods with other music, but only Shpongle really sounds like it was made for trippers by trippers. It's like a little friendly reminder, for when things are getting weird, that not only have I been here before, but others have as well. And they even bring in Terence McKenna! I swear I could weather the worst trip ever as long as I had his droning voice explaining everything that was going on.

Shulman, Entheogenic,Younger Brother(especially the new album, Simon Posford is one half) and Androcell sound very similar to Shpongle.

check out Ott
I really like shpongle, but i was honestly a little disappointed with his live performance, i saw him at rothbury and all he did was push a button every 30 secs and dance around, the visualizer was the real show

That sucks, I saw him in Atlanta and the set and dancers were both freakin' awesome!
