when it comes to effectivly filtering cannabis smoke in terms of getting rid of the bad shit. what works better a ciggarette style filter tip or water in a a bong. my guess would be water coz the colour of that shit after a few hits really isnt nice.

Vaporizing does not FILTER SMOKE. It vaporizes. It is healthier than any kinda filtration, but it does not answer the OP's question since it is not itself a filtration.
Water is the best thing for filtering SMOKE.

If someone is looking to filter smoke the best option for them is to avoid it altogether.

Vaporizers are the best, they Vape the THC and other shit at a lower temp, less combustible dangerous smoke from your bud.. But if you insist on those 2 choices i would say bong it up.

GO with da buddha or SSV. I just sold my volcano and got one. It's silent and does not have some stupid loud bag, and it is fast too. It felt like I was sitting around forever waiting for the volcano to heat up. I had my volcano for a year and I haven't looked back once since switching
Oh and DB looks like SSV because they are essentially the same thing. They are made by the same people, same heating element, and they work equally well. The SSV is more customizable and therefore costs more.
And my favorite part about the switch, the ceramic heater is way better than volcano's aluminum one. Exposure to Aluminum accelerates the production and accumulation of Amyloid plaque. Amyloid plaque is found in all Alzheimers patients as far as I know. I vaporize for health reasons, so for me it was a no brainer to switch. There is not a whole lot of research on aluminum/amyloid plaque/alzheimers connections, but I figure its better to be safe

Cig filters filter more than water, but they also filter some of the THC. Water in bongs do nothing more than filter out fine plant matter particles.

Vaporbonging is the way to go.
All the benefit of vaporizing + water to catch byproducts + heat completely non-existent.

i thought you could connect most vaporizers to a bong at least in some way, with the volcano just push the mouth piece into the bowl or glass? with vapor brothers or other whip style vapes just use adapter or hold the mouth piece to the bowl or the glass joint, if its a handsfree whip. but the thought of using a vape and still being able to use a roor is pretty appealing.

Putting a volcano through a bong seems a bit silly, the vapor is already cool anyway and the valve doesn't make the best fit. I'm not a big Volcano fan, overpriced and overrated.
Yeah, my adaptor pictured above is a Vaporbrothers GG adaptor... you wouldn't ever resort to trying to stick whip tubing in your bong, spend the $5-$10 and get a GG adaptor. I prefer the straight adaptor for my Purple Days setup (pictured above), 90 degree bent adaptor for whip vaporizers.

i had a look on ebay for a better deal but every single seller is US based, which means i would have to pay for a voltage adapter or whatever theyre called. so wouldnt save me any money really. the shipping from the buddah site only says $10 which seems too good to be true.

Do Bongs Really Filter Marijuana Smoke?
Here's the pertinent bit that actually relies on a study rather than conjecture (like in the later part of the article):Quote:
The study discovered that bongs actually performed less effectively than the other devices at removing harmful tar components from the marijuana smoke. Oddly enough, unfiltered joints actually fared best in the trials in terms of allowing the lowest amount of harmful tars and other substances from reaching the experiment's hypothetical lungs. However, it should also be noted that MPAS examined another study that was done concerning filtered marijuana smoke and filtered tobacco smoke. It was found that macrophages (white blood cells that engulf foreign bacteria) were less effective when subjected to unfiltered smoke from either substance in the lungs. Thus, although more harmful tars might reach the lungs via filtered marijuana smoke through a bong, the user could possibly be more at risk for a respiratory infection if they smoke unfiltered joints or out of pipes.

Drag is caused by the air needing to displace a ton of water. As long as there is not a ton of water above the percs, the number of percs is irrelevant to drag. FIll up your bong to where it barely filters and then fill it as high as possible. It the same bong, but drag will be very different.
Some of the nicest pieces out there are like 35+ arms on a perc. If # of arms made a difference no one would be making or buying those bongs.
Buying from DB or SSV, you also get a 3 year warranty. I would say go straight to the seller rather than ebay IMO

i can still notice a huge difference between a piece with a triple perc and a bong without a perc. and i think i will go straight to DBV to buy the vape just for the point on warranty, and the delivery is next to nothing.

yeah thanks for clearing that up. I have a mini bong with 12 individual arms coming down, and each arm(tube) has 3 holes in it. So technically theres 36 places where the smoke gets filtered by water. And the drag is smaller than a normal sized bong with just 1 perc.

I tried a volcano for the first time in Amsterdam at the weekend.
The vapour is so tasty it's unreal. It really tastes like when you put your nose deep into a bag of weed and inhaling.
Definitely one of the tastiest I've had.

I always feel like taking very small bong hits is the best way to get frizzle fried and still feel healthy after.
Like, "can't even feel it" small.
Just pace yourself with a nice bowl loaded up.
