I recall you posting it up in the D+B thread with me quite a bit last year and D+B was like so 5 years ago, but I still love it.  I like dubstep cus Im old and cant dance to 180+ BPM all night like I used too. Good excuse anyways I just love the wobble.

this track from the wu tang cd is pretty good.
people i knew in nyc where getting into psybreaks in 2005, about the same time as dubstep. i heard people starting to get into electro house about 2-3 years ago.
i dunno, alot of this this dubstep i'm not so into. i don't really like the super saw synth completely dominating the song. i like loefah alot.

It's don't know what's it's called it's just the newest vibe I'm starting to hear about at the moment.  All the innovative dubstep was like 2/3 years ago. Now it's just stale samey wobble synths. Fuck listening to music from three years ago that is just getting commercial, DnB being the ultimate example. Happens to all rave genres eventally, the good musicians are generally pushing the rave scene forward with the newer stuff that isn't so pigeonholed yet.

i kinda agree with grapefruit. i think all in all things got much better this year though. the last 2 years it seemed like there was a movement towards completely eliminating any sense of space and just making the drums as full as possible... then that just kinda died out...
i dunno. i would say there is still alot of innovation, especially this year. yeah there is alot of people jumping on the bandwagon of almost cartoony woobles, but thats not all of it.

The originals are still doin their thang which is ok but none of the newer people are pushing the sound forward IMO, happens with pretty much all Genres. Even happened with IDM which was supposed to be about experimenting with the sound, no one truly innovative (within the IDM producers) has come along since Clark IMO and that was like 8/9 years ago.

That was good DnB there but you don't exactly see much of that at events these days, what, Limewax plays and Current value but I can't really think of that much else. It's all incredibly flat sounds, samey beats and old DJs that are dying out (Andy C, Friction, blah blah blah).
Every scene gets kinda boring after a while hence adding some proper snares and a few more "traditional" melodies into psy trance to give it a ravier sound etc.

Not saying I don't like dubstep just that it is starting to flatline. That being said I do like hyperdub they seem to be a fair amount more innovative, and of course planet mu has always been a must for most anything. Gotta hand it to Vex'd (track 1 below), easily the best dubstep at a rave, hi energy and heavy as.
