 Codeine to avoid bad trip/uncomfortable come-up?

My last 5 hits acid trips have been partly ruined by a rush of anxiety when I hit the peak (2 hours in). I wouldn't call it a bad trip, it wasn't a full-blown panic attack, but it was enough to ruin the most intense and interesting part of the trip. I can't enjoy music, movies or anything, I just curl into a fetal position and wait for the storm to pass (usually it takes 1h).
So I thought I could take codeine (available over-the-counter where I live) to help me chill out and "ease" into the trip. But I'm worried an opiate could dull the effect of the LSD, weaken the visuals...
Does anyone have experience mixing acid with opiate and how it affects the trip?

It would probably dull your mind causing the LSD to lose some of its spiritual aspect. I don't think it would be too effective in reducing anxiety either. Well, unless you take a large dose, in which case you'll probably waste the spiritual aspect of your trip all together. Try half a Valium maybe? More effective at reducing anxiety with less of a dulling effect on your mind.

Valium would absolutely dull a trip, more than codeine too. That's what valium does best.. it dulls your anxiety; your thoughts. Taking .5mg kpin was enough to dull my 7 gram trip. I had great visuals but very little thought. In fact, i've taken valium to slow down a bad trip I was having.
A few beers can help a LOT with body load, and it won't dull your trip.

Yeah, Valium would dull your trip, but not as much as codeine.. Codeine isn't an anti anxiety medication. You'll need a larger dose of codeine to get the same anti anxiety effect. The larger dose of codeine will cause more of a dulling effect on the mind.
At least in my experience. And it makes sense imo.

I'm assuming you have to stay OTC. Well in your country Codeine is going to come in a mixture of some kind of NSAID. If you want to have any kind of opiate actual experience (respiratory, CNS depression and euphoria) you are going to want to cold water extract out the codeine.
I have had morphine sulfate 60mg during an LSD experience. It kind of numbs your body and that electric gnarly enegy from LSD. It did create a more blissful experience tho. That feeling of everything is going to be alright, everything is just perfect.

One time I took a few hofmanns and there came a point where the physical rush was uncomfortable for the setting I was in. I drank a few beers and felt fucking awesome - the feeling went away and I didn't feel the slightest bit numbed.

Alcohol is kind of fun with LSD, the alcohol adds a "lets have fun" vibe to the "i love everything" of acid and its

For me, alcohol makes the melting visual more melty. I like it, but I prefer to take my acid by itself. I'll drink or smoke weed on the comedown, but I like my mind to be as cloud free as possible on the peak.

I have this problem ALL THE TIME!It has became so bad I am thinking that I am going to have to hang it up.I use to never get anxious while tripping but now I do.I have also had full blown panic attacks while tripping(felt like I was having a heart attack,tiggling arm and all)it really sucks.S
So what I do now is I take .5mg of zanax in the morning then like 5-6 hours later take .5mg more and wait 5 hrs and dose.This seems to help a bit with the un comfertable tention.I also have taken .5mg while tripping and yeas it helps kill the anxiety but it also dules the trip.

PLEASE stop mixing drugs with psychedelics. i think the only things one should ever mix with psychedelics are psychedelics and cannabis. when you're in such a highly suggestible state, and you take an addictive drug like opiates, you'll be creating an addict. meta-programming. alcohol is an ego-intoxicant, isn't that counter to the purpose of entheogens? pharmaceutical drugs are the worst, most dangerous on earth. and there doesn't seem to be any research on possible drug interactions with psychedelics because they're illegal.

I live in France. Here, codeine is available OTC.
Of course, I'd rather take weed than opiates if I could, but currently my dealer is unavailable, so I won't be able to get my hands on weed or for that matter acid, shrooms for a certain amount of time.
Anyway, as suggested above, I'll try some beer, see if it helps relieve the anxiety (which comes primarily from the body load and slight dissociation, not from "dark thoughts", terrifying visuals or anything of the sort, which is why I think the solution is gonna be "chemical")

codeine --> constricts pupils and limits perception
LSD --> dilates pupils and increases perception
these drugs are at war with one another. don't combine them. Maybe like 60-100 mgs of codeine max could work for the come up without messing with the trip too much. My two cents.

I personally wouldn't suggest it. I was on 2 hits last night and decided to take a percocet at hour 8 and it actually just made me feel my body more, and kinda gave me a headache.
Whenever I get a weird body load while tripping, I just close my eyes and tell myself to calm down, and try to lose the feeling of my body. You're feeling those feelings for a reason. Just let them pass.

il do oxy like a couple hours before i trip just because i like the high. it usually wears off slowly and i can feel it for the majority of the trip. its also good to do during the comedown. makes for a comfortable sleep which can be hard to come by. this one time tripping i was just peeking and had to drive 50 miles on the interstate. i did a line of oxy like usual for the ride back and my vision kept crossing. i was too fucked up to tell how much i did so i think it might have been a lot. anyway, you're vision will blur and the visuals you would recieve will blur as well making the trip not seem as intense.

LOL i love people like this who most likely do not speak from experience.When I say I have bad anxiety I do not mean I have 10 million thoughts running threw my head about how I am going to die or never come down,when I say anxiety attacks I am talking about when the muscles in my body become so tense it it uncomfortable,there is nothing I can "tell myself,or any problems to face and fix stop a PHYSICAL problem.
I have used psychedelics to help me become a better person and to also kick a cigarette habit and it also has helped me tame another addiction I have.So in order for me to be able to heal myself with psychedelics if I have to take .5 mg of xanax 5hr be for the trip I will.
