haha.... i just got in from work to see my little thread has EXPLODED.....excellent  Some wicked stories in here. Wow some of you guys love your hunts

-you don't think twice about getting up at 4:30 a.m. to go hunting and you don't even hit the snooze

-anytime you are at other people's homes you are casing out the yard for mushrooms
-you get excited by large quantities of wood chips
-you respond to threads like this on the shroomery and spend 20 minutes thinking of all the ways you are a mushroom addict

those are the ones that i have but i bought them from a hunting catalog before the game came out. they work suprisingly well for finding mushrooms

My friend who recently moved to France was telling me how they pronounce things totally different, and the examples cracked me up. I think for Clitocybe it was "Clee-toe-seeb", rather than "Cleye-toss-uh-bee", hahaha.
I don't usually add syllables or letters to names when I pronounce them, I have a pretty good memory for how the names are spelled, I just fuck up on pronouncing them some times. Luckily, it doesn't matter.
i pronounce clitocybe like "clit-oh-sibe" and i was wondering how everyone pronounces psyatherla??

DG, i hear you, it has been a very long time (the longer the better), and we will never go back there, i won't, neither will you, but if i were an addict, i would say...if ever there was a thing i'd see, it would grow nice mycelium to me (tootsie-rool theme/tune, whatever...)
