I'm passing on this message about what sounds like an interesting guide:

On November 3, National Geographic aired the first of several broadcasts of EXPLORER: Inside LSD. The producers did a good job of showing scientific research being done with LSD in different settings (past and current). The show included several segments about personal use. These ranged from warnings about the danger of "bad trips" to the possibility of a spiritual experience. While the use of LSD for enthogenic expansion of consciousness was touched on, that possibility was not developed. There were several scenes showing the positive role a psychotherapist could play, but no discussion on the value of having a guide. If you are interested in learning more about the role of a guide and the set and setting which makes personal spiritual experiences more possible, there is a manual being written for people to use psychedelics in ways that are sacred and safe. This manual provides support and information for people acting as guides.
The manual will be released soon. If you would like a copy, send a request to entrancepress@aol.com. You will be sent a downloadable version of the manual as an attachment as soon as it is complete.

Investigating the possibilities of LSD and other hallucinogens is way past due. Observations in the past by old school scientists, didn't ask the right questions. You can not investigate LSD using the standard scientific formulas. It's time for LSD to get a proper study, one not mired in scientific prejudice. My experience with LSD has shown me that there is much more to discover about our minds! Either we already know our limitations, or there is a vast amount of knowledge that is still unknown! I know that LSD has more answers! It's time some of us scientists 2.0 that are experienced explorers, get together and ask the right questions.

I watched that, and I thought it was the most in depth and non biased documentary I've seen on a psychedelic in a while. I agree about it's limitations though, so I can't wait to read this guide. Thanks for writing it when you do!
One question, could someone just post it as an attachment to this thread, or start a new thread and post it there when they get it? It would seem to make more sense that it be available for public viewing, rather than available to those who specifically seek it out. Plus I don't feel like giving out my e-mail, not that I don't trust who ever's e-mail that is.
Thinking about it more, I'm pretty excited about this, treating psychedelics in a sacred and therapeutic fashion is something I think people completely over look, yet it's so obvious that they deserve that sort of treatment. I hope this catches on.

My thoughts exactly. Not once did they demonize the substance. Alot of eyes have been opened after watching this.
My only issue was that they only seemed to touch the tip of the iceburg in terms of information.
Each segment of the show, whether they were talking to the chemist at Stanford that is allowed to make it, or the scientists overseas that are mapping the hallucinating mind, was brief. I would like to eventually see a followup to this show.

great Idea! I watched this show with my mom it was really good for people who know nothing about the substance. I wouldn't put it past the dea to monitor this site as well.
