Simulated life

As computers become more advanced and our understanding of the properties of the universe increase, we become more and more capable of creating simulations that are true to reality. Eventually we'll be able to simulate things down to subatomic particles. We'll be able to build a virtual living cell, accurate down to the atom, and test and analyze it in ways that are very expensive or impossible to do in reality. We'll move on to simulating more complex forms of life, and eventually be able to grow a virtual human from a virtual egg cell. The ultimate possibilities and scientific value of something like that would unfathomable.
