Yeah...lol It was a monster!... when I saw him, he was leaned over on an angle because the weight of his enormous "Umbrella" like cap! It grew out way more on one side, compared to the other... I got a couple field pics of him but the quality is shit... I might try and clean them up a little and post them later... (Now that my season's over I'm clinging to whatever pics I can post)

ya i should get some tommorow .i went pine mushrooms hunting yesterday,so my fields have had some days off to flush once again! i still havent gone back to that one field i hit the other day with those huge ones! i covered so little ground that evening.but area is also a fishing spot, and i dont want any fishermen spotting me picking while theyre walking by the field .like i said before this field was picked first by me,and thats half way through the season. so its really really loaded.i dont want to heat it out to anyone! know what i mean.

Yip 100%... I'd do the same thing... Hunting & picking strategy were where I finally learned some patience!... I'm an impatient Mofo in general, but If you're in it for the long haul you must be patient and intelligent. Discipline has always been one of my best assets for picking... No matter how spectacular an area you encounter never risk "heating" it up and potentially ruining it... Play it smart and you play it well!... and as always, Good luck Hunting!

Yeah.. I'm no expert but, not Libs!... If you go looking for Libs you should really know what Libs look like!... In depth research or the aide of an experienced hunter would be of benefit!....This thread is more for people posting their Lib info and pics from this season... Posting it to be identified, and following the criteria needed to do so will get you much better answers from qualified experts... they will be able to inform you better on what you pick.... Good luck!

well those grow in the same fields usually. where you are at it should be some excellent picking. do a little research before you head out so the image of a real lib is in your head or bring a picture.

as lib king said just make a thread for id purposes, and when you find some real ones then post em here.

made a new find today. i was taking my dog for a walk and actually looking for cyans. its some freshly disturbed habitat . a new trail around some ponds for salmon rearing. there is alders and black berries on the edge of the trail. the whole creek and pond is surounded by this wild grass. well i turn a corner and theres just 2 libs standing tall in the sun.
i cant recall finding libs in this kind of grass before. its all very natural, there has never been any grazing cattle in here ever! i pick alot in ungrazed fields, but usually at least sometime in a farmers fields history it has had some kind of live stock. this has not ,it opens up a huge new area for me and should serve as inspiration for those new to hunting libs and that dont want to hop into some farmers field. tall grass around the low end of creeks is worth a shot.
it was a sunny day and other dog walkers were there so i didnt have a chance to look very thouroughly. but i will go back.

yeah... a new post! lol that's awesome Psylosymon !  I've always picked in "regular" grass... we don't really have any farms... we're more fishing oriented!... Graveyards, Sports Fields, Parks and new sod are our best locations.... I've found that "Grazing" Fields (Pastures) do produce much better numbers (Yields), probably simply because of better nourishment.... Our normal grass Libs seem to grow more separated, and in smaller groups... None the less I do find they are often very healthy looking, typical specimens!.... Good luck hunting and I hope this opens up all kinds of new areas for you!... If you haven't already you should check out my journal... it shows some of my better areas!

i usually pick in fields where cows were present for a short time some other time in the year then fall.because the shit is there, but it isnt fresh. if youve picked a field that was just grazed you will notice there isnt shit but shit! some of my good fields are hay fields.they are super short and easy.actually i hit one today and did prettty good despite the fact the snowline on the mountain is super low and it hailed all fuckin day.still got some fresh fatties.i didnt have mt camera though.

the grass around this creek though is very common and i have always either over looked or looked in it in my younger years and wrote it off as no good.it is way different than my normal kinda "turf". but with a year like this, mushrooms are everywhere!
