So is it worth the watch, or is it heavily biased as these things tend to be? :p So far, the opinions I've read seems to be rather divided.
It has started popping up on trackers, I guess I'll have to snatch it and find out for myself.

It was the most unbiased look at LSD in the mainstream that I've ever seen. Definitely worth a watch. I loved the people they interviewed.

Also DVRing it.
They just gave some rats 160mcg. every other day for a long time, that's a lof of LSD for a little rat. I feel bad for them though, IDK it's necessary research and better to be done on rats then people, well IDK, lol.
I very much dislike this attitude.
Not only are we as humans content in declaring species-centrism to the extent that we declare animals property and abuse them in horrible ways physically and emotionally, but even experienced users of psychedelics are comfortable with denying non-humans cognitive liberty.
NO being should have its consciousness altered beyond its own desire. Remember when you went to hell for 8 hours because you needed to learn? Imagine someone doing that to you every day because they feel themselves justified to do so.
It's just wrong. I believe in self-determination. There is a serious argument for denying animals self-determination (they don't abide by social rules and would murder, steal and tresspass regularly) but there is simply no excuse for dosing beings because you "need to see what'll happen".
Be your own guinea pig, seriously. We already know that there are serious problems in transposing/extrapolating results gained from experiments with one species to another. Given the subjectivity of psychedelics it'd only stand to reason that such a venture is even less likely to actually be helpful.
I am horribly sorry for bringing this up in this thread. I know it doesn't quite belong here but this issue irks me and I felt the need to speak my mind.
I saw the special. It was okay.
They didn't force feed the rats, and they stated that the rats would start to wait just for their next dose after awhile. This implies that they had "self-determination" (maybe not equal to us, but they are rats, we are humans.)
I probably would have felt bad for them if I hadn't recently seen a few videos of animals on astronomical doses of acid for bad propaganda studies decades ago. That was bad.
It wasn't to "see what happens next". It was to induce schizophrenia in order to find a way to help your fellow man. Maybe there are some problems with comparing findings from animals and transposing them into humans, but it can help us narrow down the search. After something has potential then it does go into a human trial period. It is better for us to narrow down the amount of tests that we put on humans than to try everything on humans.
I'd guess you are a peta member or want to be. There is nothing wrong with that, but some of their messages are irresponsible and over the top.
If you don't
Sorry to reply, but you brought it up.
(P.S. I am a devout animal lover, but I'd kill my own dog to save a humans life)

I record them all. All the Explorer's are awesome (for the most part).
I've never wanted to do acid more than when I was watching that.
The mask experiment was very cool. And I was glad to see they touched up on psilocybin. I'd like to see an Explorer devoted to psychedelic mushrooms. That would be fun.

not to bad at all, its very interesting how something so potent discovered by accident was then being researched by various people, including the CIA (and very irresponsibly) to it getting out into the public and then all of a sudden deemed dangereous.
Those doses back in the 60's were pretty strong! no wonder people were going insane.
Its pretty suspicious that 1 of the peeps that worked from the cia who got it slipped in his drink had a very bad experience was very different for weeks afterwords, then apparently jumped out of a window.

I watched both episodes with my mom. Afterwards, she started talking about how we should grow our own pot.
So, I am going to hold her to it.

lol very strange.
My parents own a considerable amount of land and a house for which they must pay alot of taxes. As things have been a little tight this year, the idea of growing weed appealed to my mother. We had only really talked about marijuana in a passing way up to that point. She knew I smoked but she'd never confronted me about. Now she's asking me about my connections.

fatso said: idk. some stuff seemed fake. for example, i doubt that drug dealer girl had a whole bottle full of liquid.
I submit for your consideration;
- She was not wearing gloves - She was not using brown glass (with mL markings) to store the liquid - She was not pouring the liquid from the bottle to the cap into a glass pyrex baking dish (or other collector to catch any drops/spills)
She did have a graduated syringe for transfering to the bottles, but she was measuring only 1mL into the bottle. Vials usually get 2.45 mL for 100 doses, but I think they said that amount was 200 doses (1mL would be 25-30 hits). But since the vials were just being used to drop, IDK if that matters at all...It could be real...
