A Generally Frightening Mushroom...
    #11384938 - 11/04/09 02:16 PM (2 years, 6 months ago)

...at least to my eye. Foul smell... bright yellows and greens... untouched by insects of any kind. I'd bet a dollar that these would make me quite ill.

Habitat: Central NJ USA clustered around a stump.
Gills: Free. Gray with brown and green tones.
Stem: 10cm long, 0.5cm wide, brown becoming bright greenish-yellow towards cap.
Ring: None present.
Cap: 4-8cm wide, Light brown with some cracking.
Spore print color: IP, but a thumb rub across the gills was charcoal-black
Bruising: No immediate bruising. Perhaps blue-black over time.
Scent: BLEACH. Cleared out my sinuses, and I can smell them from across the room! Reminds me of an Amanita bisporigera that I found this summer.

Another problem is, that's the only name you're gonna get for them. :smirk:
