I have a similar setup, but I still use the chair, I like to have something behind my back.
It's awesome to watch movies though, I don't have to put the laptop on my laps, I just leave it on the table and lie down...

I'm setting up a desk in my room for my laptop very soon. I'm gonna try to connect 3 monitors to it as well.
There's not a lot of space in my room at all though, for the way I want to set up the desk. It might make my room look cluttered as FUCK
But it needs to be done.

Ok, so maybe you guys are right about the back support. After my trial run last night, I think I will probably be investing in some kind of back pillow for my bed.

or, you could invest in a HUGE monitor and bluetooth keyboard/mouse. so you can sit against the wall on your bed. 
i don't like supporting wal-mart, and i'm cheap as a motherfucker. so i got my desk chair from the trash. the chair itself is quite padded and comfortable, but the bottom wheel piece thingy was broken. so i found another thrown out roller chair and salvaged the bottom piece (metal, thus durable) from that, and combined the two to make my super awesome chair! so super awesome, that when you try to pick it up, the bottom falls off! heh. wtfever. it's still comfortable as fuck and free.
although, i'm traveling these days, so i just use my tiny $200 netbook wherever i feel like it.

it's amazing some of the stuff people will throw out. i really, really despise the disposable nature of our culture. so i take pride in salvaging what i can from thrift stores and dumpsters. it's good to hear you're a like-minded individual.

It's kind of cool vibe in my neighborhood. People don't really throw out stuff, they just leave it in the alley or the street for others if they're done with it. It's neat. There's a lot of well-off kids here though, so a lot of stuff gets ignored. Which is awesome for us poor kids.
