I watched a documentary about bears just now, on some tasty mushrooms. My first solo trip, second trip on mushrooms.
I don't know what the discuss point is, but it needs to be discussed. Im just chatting shit here

Bears are one of the scariest animals ever. Any animal that can snap my neck/decapitate me with one blow is a formidable creature that should be avoided and respected.
Other scariest animal ever: sharks. They can bite your arm or leg off with one bite. A big Great White can bite you in half with one or two bites.
And alligators and crocodiles... they'll fuck your life up too.
Those are the animals I'm most scared of. Well, big cats too, but mostly the first three or four.

Totally, i scared a cub at the top of a mountain this summer and got chased down the mountain by the mother. Not fun!
Bears are cool though - i like how they hibernate. I wish i could hibernate.

Anyone ever heard of the short faced bear? It's extinct now but it was twice the size of a grizzly. Here's a few pics of the size of this beast.

Seals are the bears of the ocean!!
They shown a tendency to stalk humans (and have killed several) and to attack inflatable life boats (which they can easily puncture with one bite).

Sharks are very inquisitive, problem is they have no hands so they are inquisitive with their mouth.
They wonder what you are so they will take some probing bites and go "naww... not a seal just like I thought" and they swim off while you're floating there with a fucked up leg.

I just watched the first part of this documentary, and I must say it is absolutely incredible. I now see bears in a whole new light. I believe I now know more about bears than any other animal (and I haven't even finished watching!). This is a very good documentary. I even began to feel an emotional bond with some of the bears.
It makes me think of if aliens have documented us like this when we were more primitive animals.
How, even though the guy loves the bears, he doesn't set out to intervene in a way that would alter the nature of their little society, even when it means the sacrifice of a preventable death of a cute little bear cub, for the benefit of learning from it to help benefit other bears.
