Hydrangea Use Report

Initial Post Removed.
Do not use Hydrangea for anything but Aesthetic purposes.
Smoking Hydrangea can kill you and it is not worth the rather unpleasant buzz you get when you smoke it.
The smoke of hydrangea contains Cyanide.
I recently smoked 3 joints of hydrangea and ended up in the Emergency room with cyanide poisoning.
The effects of Hydrangea were Strong Sedation, Delirium, vomiting and loss of consciousness.
I'm lucky that my bro found me when I passed out and got me to the ER quickly because I could have literally died from smoking it.
Never smoke Hydrangea unless you are suicidal
Always do research on any kind of plant or substance before you ingest it, my foolhardy behavior almost got me killed.

First I've heard of this. They're good landscaping plants. Hydrangea arborescens is the shit. We've got some beautiful specimens on campus.

seriously. Especially since a quick google search led me to this.

Hydrangeas are moderately toxic if eaten, with all parts of the plant containing cyanogenic glycosides.[4] Hydrangea paniculata is reportedly sometimes smoked as an intoxicant, despite the danger of illness and/or death due to the cyanide.[5]
Risk dying to get high?
Nah, not for me.

I never much liked H. paniculata. All the ones I've seen have looked rather ratty. There are better shrubs to do the same job, imo. Apparently that goes for smoking them as well. There are better shrubs to do the same job, imo.

marijuana?
Exactly. It's soft texture and pyrimidal habit would serve formal gardens well.

I'll tell you about the effects when I get back from the ER damnit.
You've posted about a couple of other plants, which I was interested in, but I didn't see any more about Hydrangea.
Did the doctors tell you anything factual, or can you comment on your experience?
Some people claim that cyanogenic glycosides in wild hydrangea and cherry stones are in fact amygdalin, or vitamin B17.
When such plant materials were burned, they were said to produce Prussic acid aka Zyklon B.
Quote:
Hydrogen cyanide is commonly listed amongst chemical warfare agents that cause general poisoning and skin blisters. As a substance listed under Schedule 3 of the Chemical Weapons Convention as a potential weapon which has large-scale industrial uses, manufacturing plants in signatory countries which produce more than 30 tonnes per year must be declared to, and can be inspected by, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
Under the name prussic acid, HCN has been used as a killing agent in whaling harpoons.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_cyanide
Previously, someone had told me to eat apricot pits for the B17.
But I was also interested in growing Tapioca roots, which must be processed in a way that removes these substances, so as to avoid paralysis (konzo).

I smoked hydrangea when i was younger, only a very small amount and i read the toxins would build up in the body so i was careful not to repeat regularly.
It's not worth it considering the risks, the high is very mild.
-------------------- Now i was standing in the corner
i'm searchin for my rizla
i had some marijuana
i needed to get higher
so i went into the corner with my rizla and my ganja
built another spliff until i was totally out my head
Ps.

When I was fifteen i found some german website where in one post one dude said someone else said you could catch a buzz from smoking dried hydrangea. So me and a friend split a joint. Not a whole lot happened, I had no idea it was so dangerous.
