Read my post. I said that I would PC anyways - but how can a grain soaked in an anti-bacterial/anti-spore solution not be more clean and more resistant to bacteria and contaminate spores? I don't see how "it doesn't work" makes sense.
Will grains soaked in the solution be more resistant to contams? I would think so.
Do I think that using it as a substitute for PC'ing is the way to go? Hell no, that is why I own a PC.

It might be more clean- it's not more resistant. Think it through. You only need one bacterium. So even if you kill 99.9999999%, you've still got a chance of failure.
Anyway, most experienced growers shoot their contams into the jars. They don't shoot good solution into bad jars.
I wash grains using a drop of soap. If I happened to have antibacterial soap on the counter, I'd use it. But there's no way that it's going to change the final quality of the sterilization process.

The original poster disappeared, never to be heard from again, three months after making this thread. Peroxide and/or bleach are not substitutes for pressure cooking. Neither bleach nor peroxide will kill all bacterial endospores. Soaking in bleach before pressure cooking would be like wearing a parachute in your car. It would serve no purpose.
This thread was started when that silly 'peroxide tek' was floating around, with some dude trying to charge $20 or more for a few pages printed off his computer showing how to use peroxide rather than sterilizing. It's horrible. I don't know of one single grower who tried it(including myself) who still thinks it's a viable technique. RR

New user bumped an old thread instead of starting a new one. Good manners, IMO.

SWIM is using doc's wbs tek and once colonized, moving to a monotub for fruiting. Should SWIM bother with casing? If so, is just verm + used coffee grounds sufficient? what ratio? obviously SWIM is a newbie.
