Hey Kevin,
You shouldn't dry mushrooms on a newspaper like that that.....they'll absorb all of the tacky consumerism and make you sick during the trip

Well I have been using nespaper and magazines and pizza cardboard boxes for thirty years and no one ever got sick off of eating shrooms. I recommend drying them on paper becasue they absorb the moisture and wetmess of them and when spread apart like showned in the azure photo they dry extremely well.
What I do not recomment ae screenedtrays used in dehydraters and such becasue of rusts and oxiidation of metals on shrooms fromthe heat of a dehydrator.
here is a post from my website showing various patches and collections of P. cubensis in thailand.
http://mushroomjohn.com/species28xx.htm
There is also an excellent sextion at my site on drying in my fild guide and I have never had to use desicant ever to preserve shrooms. The onlypropblems I ever had were the first year in collecting Copelandia cyanescens and learning how to correctly hanfle them and carry them while collecting them and preserving them so they were not oxidated by the time I got home.
most people have the biggest problem learning how to dry the copes. but here are cubies. I could also show you my cyans or P. pelliculosas. You can view them at my site inthe http:..mushroomjohn.com/species.html
there are over 2000 images at that section of my site.
of fifty five species.

Jey Kevin, good score. and the paper will not really damage you or hurt the shrooms. Hell Paul stamets and I evn have grown both P. cyans and P azures on soaked corrigated cardboard boxeds from the Safeway.

So that place is still putting out eh? I got 300 grams wet my first trip there (2 months ago), and 700 grams wet the second time (last month)... I was thinking about making one last trip for the year if they're still growing. Despite the fact that it is overpicked there, if you take the right approach you can get hundreds of grams from places no one seems to ever notice... I know of at least three spots that are growing like hell every time I go - and they're not even that hard to get to. Anyway, good find, maybe I'll see you there next time ;-)
