I thought I had a bad ass pc , I mean i just built it and it's pretty fast. So I downloaded the g unit one instead of the cpu lol anyway some of the work it is like a billion points and takes 3 days! my pc needs some more mem I guess it has 4 2g spots ... 2 are filled (amd 64x2 5600+ 2.90ghz,3.25 gb ram ddr2 , sata yadda yadda) Should I just get the cpu version or what? lol

more ram isn't going to help with that, faster ram 'maybe' but barely noticed
what gpu are you using?
and its not really how long it takes to do them its how many points you get for doing it. i always felt they needed to make these workloads smaller because not everyone has the time to run them for 3 dam days and if you take much longer then it goes into the junk file and you gotta do a new one all over....seems like a very wasteful system that sopposedly "smart college people" designed.
just think of all the wasted energy and time people put into these junked files. the program is really only designed for one kind of person....the kind of person who never uses his expensive equipment  i never leave my computer on at night, but ill step away for an hour here and their...but thats never enough to finish one of these monster projects in time.

I got the new one for the ATI has the fancy display 32bit for xp maybe I just got a big work load... I read up on folding@home and it says that these huge workloads are not always available... The only reason I do not let it finish is because it slows my network down alot. The pc performs just fine and I'm don't even use the pc except to burn movies. I'd plan to be a gamer or at least have a gaming pc. Be nice to play madden on my pc

Just downloaded and installed it. While I was browsing through their website I noticed our team page shows "points" and "WU" values and was wondering what the significance of each was. I would assume the points are just a way of keeping track of who's done more work and WU might stand for work units or something.

how do you know if you can use a GPU vs the standard
Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
this is the chip i have i believe doesnt seem like it will cut it...

Yeah WU stands for work unit and those are the chunks of data which you download and process. Some of them are more resource intensive than others and take longer to complete, so they earn more points. For ranking purposes only points matter.

I just started folding on my PS3, I have one concern though. There's no place to input your user passkey on the PS3, just a place for user name and team number. Will the WU's and points still post to my user name?
I know if you fold on a normal PC and don't input your passkey you won't get the points for you WU's.
I've completed 2 WU's on the PS3 today and none of them are showing up on my stats page, not even showing an active processor.

You don't need a passkey for our team. The WU's should still get credited to your username. did you stop folding? Looks like you did from your stats page, but you posted a ton of points for a single day (the same day you posted this message, the 16th) probably from your PS3.

I have done Shrooms many times. I have never once dripped. I have only done an eight at a time. It just makes me feel funny. I've smoked it, too.
Is there something wrong with me?
Is it true some people just cannot trip?
