Habitat:
In grassy path area between 2 sides of a deciduous/pine forest in Dekalb county.
Gills:
Light brown to beige, darkening to black. Gills not attached.
Stem:
2 inches to 4 inches in length. .5 to 1 cm. in diameter. Off white to beige, bruising greenish blue. Texture is fibrous, solid, with relatively thin fibers inside.
Cap:
1 to 3 inches in diameter. Color is light brown to deep purple to black on some of the caps. All have a nipple. They are convex, spherical, texture is soft.
Spore print color:
Processing now...
Bruising:
Bluish green on the stem, deep purple to black on the cap. The edge of many of the caps is deep purple/black.
Other information:
It smells really sweet. More sweet than I ever thought a mushroom could smell.

Thanks! I'm still calling friends and family and shit like my girl just had a baby; I'm so excited. As you noted I did find them today, after venturing out on the search only because I had planned it expecting rain last night. We got not rain, but enough dew/humidity to make it happen.
I was so close to not even venturing out. Whew!

Yeah I searched all around, found no more. I guess I will check back in that area on Monday morning after it rains (hopefully).

Everytime I have checked a site within a few days, there were more growing in the surrounding areas. It rained a little here last night but I did not find the time to go. After seeing the freshness in yours, I will be out in the morning dew!

Success this morning! Found about 2 ounces wet, all from much smaller patches in the same area. I think if we get the moderate rains as forecasted for tonight I will come back with the fucking mother lode tomorrow morning.
