So far I've found Amanita amerimuscaria absolutely everywhere, most the size of saucers and average sized dinner plates. Though a totally different chemical/preparation then psilocybes, I have no interest in them for myself. Still, popping up everywhere since the temp drop and increase in humidity.

Weird. I've been hunting every day and not seen one Amanita sp. this season.

I've found quite a few Amanita gemmata this season (my first time finding these), but can't figure out if they're active and safe, active and deadly, or just deadly.
Last year my work was a huge farm of A.muscaria, but it was later in the season (they were still growing well after the first snow). So I'm biding my time on those.

They seemed to pop up late last season, so I am surprised to see so many people finding them this year right now.
Except me. And I look A LOT.

The whole reason I'm leary. I've never tried Amanita, but I've heard more negative then positive.'
I've focused mainly on hunting in woods (long nature trail and they were kind enough to redo the whole trail a couple months back.. with fresh woodchips though, it hasn't done any good as of yet. But every time I check up on it I find more patches of amanitas. Today there we roughly 20 in the 10 min I was walking.

I've tried A.muscaria a few times, but was always chicken to break anything above threshold effects.

Well, today I found the most Stuntzii I have ever found. Total count was over 300, and the fresh weight was almost 1 lb. this picture shows less than half of them drying. Thank you rain!!! The amanitas were found in the Pasayten wilderness last weekend.

Found my first A.muscaria of the season. Unfortunatly it was intentionally smashed on the side of a dirt bike trail.

Got these just to confirm ID. There everywhere in my area
[image]http://files.shroomery.org /files/09-40/427538304-1_1.jpg[/image] Still debating trying them though
Edit: Not an ID request, was ID'd on thread 1,2,3 Amanitas The ID was the purpose of picking these rather then bringing home 10 bags full just to toss em in the trash.
