this is the first year ive found them in grass. But used your advice looking for spots, even in the areas that you said to look in, and zero luck. (weilii wise) im beginning to think you are lucky.

I dont know about luck, if I were lucky these would be legal and I would be rich. It is hard to say why you are not finding any, especially since I really have no idea where you are looking. Maybe you are closer than you think.

Haven't been able to get out today but hopefully this rain will revive these dudes for us and we will have better luck. I'm about out of specimans and could use a new flush. Don't forget to do your rain dance, Hell I got my lil' nephew out in yard dancing...:stinkyshroom:

I've been eating some here and there, you know! 1-2 grams my mouth every four hours as needed for enlightenment! Did a quick look earlier on grass patches, nothing - need rain. I got about 20 good prints I'm gonna throw in a Qt. sprayer and go for a walk. Eat, Sleep, and Shit P.Weilii man

That is very nice, did you find that in the grass? Hopefully you're getting a spore print from this. Maybe it will pass this trait on.

I think its just 2 mushrooms that grew extremely close to each other, and they fused together... ive seen that too in p. caerulescens.

interesting find whatsoever

I was reading an older post which stated weilii have been found in other states like TN and SC. If this is the case, then why is the map not expanded, or was this just bullshit?

It may be spreading in range from what I've been reading as well.  By and large, however, there only seem to be confirmed cases in the northern GA area.  If you keep reading the thread you referenced you will see they later identify the shrooms in question as not weilii at all.

I found one yesterday that was opposite. The stipes must of fused together at the base and then split. It was longer, but I cut it.

It would be nice if we could see the actual pictures of these shrooms in question.

No rain last night but I found my 1st patch this morning.  The ID thread is here: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11173941

One thing I will say, especially for those still looking for their first find, is that these things smell incredibly sweet.  Much of the info out there says they smell like cucumbery sweet.  This is an understatement at best.  They smell like Froot Loops, just incredibly sweet.

Keep hunting!
