(I'm new to field collection, so I'm trying to be really sure of my IDs) I'm finding tons of what appear to be liberty caps in the grassy parks near Bothell. I went out yesterday during the rain and picked up about 100 or so, as well as some golden-orange looking ones that I have yet to identify, they have umbos and look quite like p. azurescens. Spore printing now, and will post pics. Anyone else picking up libs?
I'd love it if someone with more experience could join me and teach me one of these days

^That's an interesting specimen.^
About to go on a walk, we got a few showers here on the weekend no signs of anything yesterday but I'm gonna see if it's the same case today.
Did get a nice cube trip in yesterday though

Wow. Bfogg, that is a really interesting find. Looks like it could be a kinda dry Baeo especially with the heavy bluing, but in grass? I wonder what that is......

It would be wise to cut the cap off from the stem and place it on tin foil for a few hours to get a spore print. If it's purple to purple brown tell us.

This is my first season hunting. Went out this morning to both steilacompton and point defiance parks but no dice! Cyans need to hurry up!

It looks a lot like a Baeo, there could have been a lot of lignin in the grass, or beneath it.
I say Psilocybe baeocystis.

Print was purple, and yes, it was really beat. looked like somebody pulled it up cuss when I found it, it wasn't even attached to anything. just laying in the grass, blue as can be. Just went for a walk in the Issaquah Highlands. Was told they are stuntzii.

I don't think so, but could be. They were growing in new sod laid down in April. I didn't think cyans would grow in sod or hydroseed.

It is still early, be patient. It's not like there are 100 people finding azurescens right now or anything.
Just a few oddballs here and there. Keep looking and you will find actives eventually.
Happy Hunting!

I've just been looking in housing developments for good lawns, since cyans are not really booming right now. Found three active species so far. Some baeos, stuntzii, and one that I still haven't gotten a solid ID on. I think it's Psilocybe fimetaria, but was found in the exact same lawn as the pic I posted earlier of the baeo.
