Sporeless P. weilii.

Really, is this common? would they still be considered active?

I find some of those "look alikes" within a few hundred feet of my patch, printed one and it had a white print.

BTW: Found my biggest weilii to date this morning!

i had a dream last night that i found some...  at a roadside produce stand.

not kidding.

i am not giving up hope, but it seems like folks are literally tripping over them and well..  the dream is as close as i've gotten.

i've been doing the dance, asking the gods, even meditating with the image.  i did see one of the biggest mushrooms i've ever seen today.  seriously..  it had a 12" cap on it, but it was one of those big white mushrooms, and unfortunately it was knocked over.  i only had my piece of crap lens on me, and tried to get a pic.  i'll upload later.

i've had a rough year, i could really use a lift on the spiritual side.

please send vibes.  thanks.

I found these similar type look-a-likes yesterday while hunting weilii. They look just like a weilii with the nipple, whitish gills, growing in clumps and also bruising on the stems in prime weilii habitat. There was probaly a good 100-200 in this spot. I grabbed about 40 or so but when I got home and printed them, it was a white print. Anyone know what these are?

Also, These things a sweet smell about them, can't place it but not your NORML shroom smell. Could drying conditions affect spore printing, such as low heat fans?
I thought for sure these were weilii but the spore print thru me a two piece...

The ones I found still have not produced any spore prints, gills are still white but it did bruise on the gills. It smells exactly like weilii, Alan called it a sporeless weilii. I cant find any info on this but I do believe him. The texture of the weilii and the smell are pretty distinctive and these have both. White gills are what scared me.

Olympic moon, up until now the only ones I have found were growing out of grass. Grass fruits average 2.5 to 4 inches tall, all picture perfect, beautiful fruits, but they stop at the top of the grass and only poke their little heads up. Love the way it looks in the grass though...

Two days after I checked the patch, these giants had grown past maturity from pins which I had not even noticed, curled up on the edges, and were quiet large. They were growing maybe 12 inches from "grass fruits" from 2 days earlier, only out of some red mulch, not sure what type. The stems are as thick as my finger fresh.  :whoo:

I went out this morning, it was still wet and only found a handful. Went back about 5 in the afternoon and there were weilii popping from all over, these too had the finger thick stipes. I am going out to get more pics tomorrow and to see how big and how many are there. Tomorrow is the day people should get out and look.

I think 2 days after the last rain is when you can start to spot a few but 3 days is when it will get prime.

I went out to a park with like 8 full size soccer fields yesterday, and found nothing. all conditions were perfect for weilii, but nothing. hopefully I will be able to get back out there today. good luck in gainesville!

I found about 50 or so this morning but got poured on and left, I think once the sun hits they will be all over.

It is easy to walk right by these if you don't look carefully. They blend in and can hide under pretty deep brush.

Olympus - I got a couple of photos but have lost my usb cable, so I'll need to get them developed and I'll post them ASAP. The biggest cap was probaly 3 inches or so and they grew thicker under some type of big leafed weed/bush. The print was very light white, barely visible I guess. Could young/very wet Weilii's have trouble printing?
