hmmm... so is google in on the conspiracy? If so, then why doesnt the govt. shut them down? Im thinking this is a false flag operation - only a sheep would believe the govt. Its just like the reichstag fire and operation northwoods.

What conspiracy are you questioning Google's involvement with?
In all the years I've used Google as my homepage and have looked at it on a daily basis, they have never customized the Google logo for something that wasn't significant. Whoever is behind these Google UFO logos probably just discovered that these things real and is trying to relay this information to the public. The negative stigma attached to UFO and extraterrestrial believers is beginning to dissolve. People who have high reputations in their career fields are beginning to come forward with their knowledge on the subject. More and more people are seeing UFOs and have been forced to consider the seemingly impossible. Television and the internet is allowing information to transfer from person to person at a higher rate than ever before. When I type www.google.com, like millions (perhaps billions) of other people, I get an image of a crop circle, and a link to popular crop circle websites. But somehow I have been scammed?
I'm just looking at the pure ramifications of this. There are those of us that believe the current scientific paradigm cannot explain such things as crop circles, and we need people to wake up to this fact for a paradigm shift to occur. What a better way then the most popular website in the world? Anything to get people thinking just a little outside the box is a good thing.

I see. Yea there are definitely a lot more people coming in and voicing their opinions, which are often sarcastic. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The fact that more people are venturing and taking a mild interest in these topics could be argued a good thing.
Reason does have its place. I don't think we understand enough about these things to claim Reason though. If we are arguing about, lets say the properties of H20, and I say that ice is less buoyant than water, I would be removed from reason.
But what does anyone know about crop circles, ETs, or psychic abilities? We know these are phenomena which are very real to the subjective observer. We know very little though. So I see claiming "something is far removed from reason", as a cop out to an idea which doesn't fit into ones worldview.
