Ps. caerulescens var. caerulescens, confirmed by a friend at GA state with a scope. These are fatter than weilii, growing 50 yards from weilii patch, talk about luck.

Just read starting tomorrow we should be getting some good rains in. I have never went the day after rain. Has anyone had any luck with this?
Also, I never found any in grass or straight pine straw. If I spread some of these woodland weilii spores to grass, will they grow?
For those who are trying the pine beetle theory...take a look at my pics and see what the ground should look like in that area. A majority of my finds were because I moved debris and thick piles of dead branches. If it was a thick area, I would place the shrooms on the ground right next to them or on the closest log just to get a clear shot. 90% were done within a foot or so where they were found.
All my giant ones were growing under brush in air pockets that were not seen from directly above. It seemed that these areas were also where water once puddled, or they were still damp because it was so shaded by the brush. Anyone know what the largest one found is? Mine was a hair over 7".
One last question, anyone know how to take a gps location out in the woods? I want to start gathering info, and pics but really don't want to harvest these anymore. I figured I can put a habitat photo collection together, days after rain, etc. There is so little info out there as when and where to go. If I gps the locations, I can make a map of the areas I want to spooge with spores.

I do not recommend keeping or entering any kind of GPS coordinates what so ever! If you just happen to get in the mix, or caught on private/government property, or the cops happen to find that GPS. They will know all your patches, all your areas and may even try to charge YOU with a grow. Keep 'em in your head, you'll remember!!!
