Found this list, via the board's wonderful SEARCH feature. You should check it out, if you wish to join our community. In less than a minute, I found THIS THREAD (cited below). Hunting in Central Alberta, Canada "Here are the known active mushrooms in your area. Just go to another search engine and run a search on them you should be able to find there habitat and time when they grow." "Amanita muscaria (Ammirati et al., 1985) Conocybe kuehneriana (Schalwijk-Barendsen) Gymnopilus luteofolius (Schalwijk-Barendsen) Gymnopilus sapineus (Schalwijk-Barendsen) Gymnopilus spectabilis (Schalwijk-Barendsen) Panaeolus subbalteatus (Schalwijk-Barendsen)."

The subbs are plentiful. The gyms are easy to find- in Alberta. Good lord get on it- the way I see it every time someone scores a shroom, an angel gets its wings... No- but seriously- Alberta is flush with subbs where there is the environment for them. Enjoy and may you birth many pics.

I know this is 1893 days old... but
I also live in southern AB... there is an ass load of cows around here, what kind of luck do you guys think I would have if I were to look for some shrooms in the pastures?

Bad luck. Psilocybin mushrooms do not grow near cows unless you drive south for about 25 hours. You would have much better luck looking in big piles of horse dung for Panaeolus cinctulus. You may be able to find the same species in residential and corporate lawns. I can just about guarantee you that there are some growing less than a mile from where you are sitting. But no one will pick them and they will rot into the grass.

lush lawns are probably the most reliable habitat for Pan. cinctulus.

I have over 1/2 lbs dried of mostly pann subb- lol I live in lethbridge alberta. They really are every where. There is also 2 other I pick that also are active-pinched pann's are active around here also.I think there is also another pann but its not a pinched or subb(cintulus)-I am not sure if its active or poison-but makes you sleepy weird feeling LOL-I pick 3 panns that seem very much active.
New lawns, only place I can find them or very very nice well taken care of moist darker green lawns. They work and there out there dudes.

You sure do! There weird little shroom's, I can't wait till next year to figure them out better.I still have lots.I am currently growing some on agar.I have one plate going real good.Need to figure out a spawn medium-I am going to try oats. I think these are Pann subb's. I hope to grow them to figure out if that's what they truly are? They have to be as they lack any blue bruising except on the base of some stems. They are very potent one's if they are.
