Yes, especially with the police.  If they find out that you have any mushrooms they will break down your door, especially in Georgia.  When the judge sees how many you have he will send you to prison for many years.  Be extremely careful, do not sell any or give any away while you have that kind of weight around.

These have all been returned to their original orgin in hopes to spread more spores. There were to many insects and I really had no use for them, It was exciting knowing that they do exist though.

Wise decision.  I was worried that you would give them to someone, or eat too many and freak out, then be charged as a large drug dealer with a long mandatory minimum prison sentence.

Most drugs are very light, but wet mushrooms are very heavy, meaning that if you get caught with them the punishment would be very harsh, compared to the punishment for your average coke dealer.

You will probably get a lot of PM's, you shouldn't take anyone to the patch or tell them where it is.  Its best to tell people just the habitat so they can find their own similar patches.

If it was me, I would bring a large cooking pot and a couple gallons of water, and make an extremely concentrated spore solution.  Put handfuls of mature mushrooms in the water, wring them around for awhile, then take the bits out and put more mushrooms in.  Repeat until it is so dark purple that you can't even see through it for a millimeter.  Then pour that water on fresh substrate and in new locations.  Or just let nature do that, seems to be working just fine as is.  These mushrooms are almost identical to Psilocybe villarrealiae / Psilocybe caerulescens.  These types of mushrooms turn dead wood back into usable soil and are an important part of the ecosystem.

I agree, after it appeared these were weilii I didn't want to take any chances. At least now we know that they will grow in large patches...that is if they were weilii.

Man this is freaking great. I've been draggin' my ass all through g'ville for a month w/no luck. I just ran a McEver run down to 20 but nothing. Was starting to tell myself that they don't grow here but this changes everything. Beautiful find, You should spread those throwbacks in all kinds of different locations and turn G'ville into the WEilii capital!!!

I think it may already be. Have you found any dead pines yet? Look for the beetle damaged ones, they usually kill them in clusters. Find these areas and you will find them.

They're saying it's supposed to rain sunday through thursday here in forsyth county so hopefully that means good news.

I definitely agree about spreading the spores to new locations, it would really be amazing if these things took over everywhere. The only thing i worry about is this becoming a news story and everyone finding out about it.

Indeed.  I dont think cops in Hall have any idea what Weilii are yet.  I would really hate for Gainesville to become the next Alpharetta/Woodstock/Canton.

This is interesting, with large qty's would you have to keep adding more water due to evaporation? Could you use a back pack sprayer to apply and how much should be applied? Could I spray it on dead logs or even grass?

The spores actually live through the boiling process? Is this brew active?

Just imagine how many there would be...crazy, lol.

Evaporation? He didn't mean for you to cook it. I think you misunderstood that.

As a matter of fact, a backpack sprayer would work like a charm.

Apply as much as you like, the most important part is the solution being rich with billions and billions of spores.

Even though Psilocybe weilii are wood decomposers, they won't grow directly from wooden logs and they won't grow in grass. In this thread you already explained a couple of times the perfect habitat for them. There is a reason why you are finding them by the thousands. They obviously like it there. You want to find spots where there is wooden debris (possibly covered in grass for preferable micro-climate). You can help it by artificially making such a habitat, by scattering mulch, bark, twigs and branches and partly covering it with a mix of soil and leaves, etc.

Quote:

No. Boiling them will kill them. Alan said "bring a cooking pot", not "cook them".

Quote:

Is this brew active?

Yes. Psilocybin and psilocin are water soluble. But the spores in "the brew" (again, DON'T cook it!) aren't active. That's why spores of active mushrooms are actually legal in most places. They don't contain any controlled substance, not even traces of it, only the genetic code for producing the substance.
