Yea I usually try to pinch them, but sometimes the stem breaks that way. So I just usually just pull it out.

(if using scissors you leave a bit of the stem there which will just rot in time.)
people just use scissors because they're scared of poop, and to keep everything tidy.
i know for a fact when I'm in the fields I just want to get the fruits and get the hell out of there, who gives a fuck about the poop, clean them at home.
Thats what I was thinking too.
If I wouldn't have plucked this whole mushroom, I would have only grabbed as much up until where my fingers are holding it. That is like half the stem or more!

Yes, and the thickest part of the stem would have been left also. I call that the tip of the iceberg.

Went out Saturday night and found some nice cubes. Potent as hell. Found them during a dry spell. Good soaking rain today can't wait to go out in the morning, the small ones we left Saturday should be beautiful. Hopefully I won't run into the wild boars again!

I am reading a lot saying that antifungals in feed have nothing to do with how many shrooms there will be and you can find them anywhere there are cows.
Is everyone in CFL finding this to be true? I am in Brevard and have hit up several fields recently and found nothing! Any advice would be appreciated.

In general, wait for repeated, heavy rains on the site of interest and check it out. The author of Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World wrote that he spent 1000s of hours hunting before finding his first active specimen. There's still plenty of time in the season.

I keep hearing about these antifungals in the feed... But honestly - with this economy - why would a farmer spend extra money to feed his cows some chemical to prevent drug use????
That doesn't make sense IMO
I have also heard that the salt blocks have something to do w/ less shrooms.
Honestly - its a fungus that feeds off shit - I doubt it has anything to do w/ what they are eating. The cows around here are eating grass anyways.
